Smile Yes, another "retro" 5th gen sketch

Hi guys,

well after seeing so many neat sketches floating around of what the next gen Camaro may/should look like I got inspired to whip up a quicky 1st gen inspired concept last night

I personally could go either way on what the next Camaro "should" look like. I'll judge it when I see it. If it's retro inspired (and cool looking in my book) then great. If it is more evolutionary in look, that's cool too Heck, even it were a revolutionary, watershed design statement with a whole new aesthetic, that would be awesome. I have full confidence in the stylists over at GM to be able to come out with a strong design.
Anyway, here's a link to the my sketch :

1st gen inspired sketch

It's on my webshots page next to a couple second-gen inspired images I did a while back.

Very nice.

Only gripe: It's a bit toon'ish if you know what i mean.

I agree. It's a good drawing, but too much.

Definately one of the better sketches I've seen lately. Good job.

you people have some skill that's for sure. I have a nice idea in my head for the concept but can't put it on paper to save my life. I can't even get the rims correct.. they end up looking like a mashed pizza...

Great job on the drawing! I think you should make the car a little shorter and stretch the wheelbase by pushing the tires out some more...

For some reason I see next generation Grand National when I look at that. Cool drawing though.

Thanks for the positive feedback, guys It was just a spur of the moment thing I drew up last night. Maybe over the weekend I'll be able to sit down and work on the design's proportions a bit and tighten up the line quality a little bit.

Nice, although I like your 2nd gen inspired sketches better. That may just be my 2nd gen bias though. Do you think you could do an early (70-73) 2nd gen inspired T/A ?

If it wasn't for the wheel swishes & the grill's bowtie, I'd say it's a modern interpretation of a '69 GTO.
