Considering how the early 2nd gens were designed with a euro influence I can see your point. I too do not want a totally retro design however, as stated earlier... cues from the past would be most welcome. I love the early 2nd gen F-Bodies. They are my favorite vehicles of all time. So if some round tailights and a big mouth up front make it in... Welp, my checkbook will be opening very quickly.

That looks really good and I think the 5th gen will be along those lines.

I think the Aston is hands down one of the most beautiful cars on the road today. End of story.

The basics of that car are coincidentally the basics of a pony car ~ long hood with a big engine up front, short deck, hips that could pitch a tent...... I vote for a euro-esque car done American style with heritage cues á la C6

I am big on retro but I would love a car that looked like that also. Just cant see what a vert would look like. It is 350zish and the 350z vert is just ugly.

Funny you should ask. I've always loved Aston Martin styling and have always thought that one in particular would make an excellent "Camaro".

Anyone who suggests it looks like a Nissan should be shot, IMO.

Not exactly. Chicken and egg priciple.

You can say the 350Z looks like the Aston Martin.

You can say the 350Z looks like a 911.

But to say any of these supercars look like a 350Z is sacreligious.

IMO, retro is a trend. A trend I don't care for and a trend that definitely isn't going to last. I despise the look of the new mustang... especially the interior. I'm for the modern look all the way, but if you want to find a way to keep some classic styling cues and modernizing them... that's fine too.

I've mentioned before how the Aston Martin would be a nice car to clone the lines for a 5th gen....slap in some heritage CUES and I think you have a winner.

IMO the Camaro has a long history if immitation.

I'd be interested to hear this. Aside from the first gens looking along the lines of the 'Stang and the 2nd gens have a Ferrari-esqe roof line, I never noticed any imitation.

Take a look at the Aston coupe that survived from the 70s into the 80s. You'll see resemblance to the 1st gen. Sorta boxy, but with muscular fenders.

I fit in with the group that has been saying the Aston would make a great baseline to start from. It screams muscle with nods to "heritage cues."

I think the SS concept looks quite a bit like the Aston as well.

If the Camaro looks like this Aston, I'm all over it. Those are my favorite designs.

That aston has a very nice profile to it. If the next camaro resembles a camaro and has that basic shape, (and ditches those terrible wheels the aston has), then itll be in my driveway for sure.
