I'd rather have the Cobalt SS I think the car looks pretty sweet in Arrival Blue or black with color inserted leather......... But the Astra isn't no slouch either it's a pretty cool looking vehicle just not my cup of tea.

Pontiac also has the G4 coming out based on the Cobalt. It looks slightly better, but in the long run, I don't think I'd really like any of these type of cars. I'm all about appearance when it comes to cars, I'd rather have an Inline 4 in a brand new 2002 Camaro than a Cobalt .

There is no G4 Delta based Cobalt coming anytime soon. There is the Pursuit in Canada, but as of right now, there is no G4 planned, unless someone knows something I dont.

I would like to see the Astra 3dr and 5dr come over as Pontiac car, but off Delta.

As far as the question...the Astra 3dr is much nicer inside and out then the Cobalt, and the turbo 2.0 motor sounds better then teh supercharged 2.0 motor as well. And I belive the turbo 2.0 motor in the Astra makes a bit more hp thent he Cobalt SS's.
Interior is also killer with available DVD nav.
Id personaly take the Astra over the Cobalt. If Pontiac offerd the Astra 3dr and 5dr in there line up, it could get rid of both the Sunfire and that waste-of-space Vibe.

That looks like a Chevy version of the Ford Focus, which might not be a bad thing. If it were awd (instead of Cobalt's fwd), I'd take the Astra HPC. Seems like there would be room for a hot hatchback somewhere in GM's lineup. It would be more exciting than a rebadged Cobalt for Pontiac (and looks better than Nomad).

I'd take the Cobalt SS, even though that car is very nice. That would make a good Delta for Pontiac

I guess I'm in the minority but I actually think the Astra concept looks pretty good. Something about Opel but they shure can pull off stunning front end designs compared to their chevy counterparts.

Ditto. It doesn't seem that Pontiac is going to get the "Colbalt" inside the US. Seems Pontiac is holding out for a Kappa based sedan.

Being that they pretty much have claims to the chassis (it was developed for THIER car, everyone else is helping to finance it) so they are going to use it as much as they can.

Isn't the Astra more the size of the Aveo rather than the Cobalt?

Speaking of Pontiac, don't they also have a G6 coupe and G6 convertible due out shortly?

I think its pretty certain that the next-gen Astra will be the Saturn Ion's replacement in 2007 . Unlike the Saturn L300 which was a nice Opel sedan that was given generic Americanized styling, future Opel-based Satruns will keep their European styling.
