Would SSR be cooler if........

If it came in a hardtop?

With the top up, I think SSR looks pretty cool. With the top down, I think SSR looks pretty dorky. A hardtop would also cost several thousand dollars less, and weigh several hundred pounds less.

No, I dotn think so... Most people wouldnt really miss the weight. Its not like its a sports car.

All it needs is a supercharger....

Pretty cool the way it is if you ask me. Except for that price tag...

it would be alot cooler if it was lower and had the bigger wheels like the concept.

It would be cooler if it came with a factory supercharger.

Its coolness is the fact that its both a roadster and a pickup... not to mention extremely retro.

For me the coolest versionwould be a hardtop-with a 6.0 and a 6spd. manual. I'd rather have an El Camino SS though.

If: they'd take that big chrome bar off the back..leave the Bowtie tho..
If: it had a "rumble seat, folds open to seat a 2 passengers, then can fold down flat in the bed..

I like the "Hard retractable top"..

The big bar across the back did not make production. It was on early pre-production SSRs but they dumped it for the regular production run.

It has the exact same size wheels as the concept.

I think it would be cool if they did a fixed roof with a 400HP 6.0L V8 and 6 speed manual

Yeah, but the concept had a different offset and were more "dished", that's why they looked so much more agressive.

The wheels made the concept look better. Also the concept had a longer wheelbase and shorter overhangs.....that helped too.

I was under the impression that the SSR as a whole changed very little from the original concept.

Personally I like the SSR as-is. Sure it could use a bit more power. It is unmistakeable in design, (in a good way, not an Aztek way ) the reason it rubs everyone the wrong way here is, of course, the price.
