I havent finished the design and havent colored it yet but basically im trying to have the center stack slightly angled towards the driver. the buttons on either side of the guages are supposed to stick out kinda like on the C6, except they will be more flush into the design. There is some clarification if u cant tell. the circle between the tach and speedo is a shift light.
for the buttons that arent obvious as to what they are here is a break down
SL= shift light on/off
DTRL= day time running lights On/off
and there is one blank one bc i havent figured out what to put there yet.

Re: Work in progress. 5th gen interior concept
I like that alot! If we could get some good quality plastics, and have it all fit together like it should, without HUGE gaps, then that would be almost up to European standards. Wouldnt that be a shock to the automotive world, a Camaro with a world class interior.
Re: Work in progress. 5th gen interior concept
uh...how about a gas guage? Oil pressure?
Id like to see a full assortment of guages on my Camaro. If my old Third gen has all of them, so should the 5th gen.
I dont like the buttons around the guage pod. HUGE thing I cant stand on the Corvette.

I'll probably do various versions with difference based on peoples reactions.
Re: Work in progress. 5th gen interior concept
Yeah, I agree with you, I REALLY like the buttons on the side. Always have liked that on the Vette's. Now if you could get a decent looking steering wheel and a few more radio and HVAC controls in there, then we could email it to GM!

G-meter, eh? Very useful...
How about providing the driver information on some more important issues like oil pressure and water temp? If more info is needed, how about trans/oil temp?
And all this without having to go through any menus or pressing buttons.

LOVE IT! but i agree, a standard analog gas, oil, volts, and temp gauge would be better. but i also like the buttons around the cluster. also, i think the tach should be rotated so the 0 and 7 are at about 8 o'clock and 4 o'clock, respectively.

i'm starting to HATE how they have two vents in a straight tower going to the shifter
seems like every car has that and it's getting so repetitive
what happened to interiors like the 93-96 that was actually different, but still very good looking?
other than that small thing, i think it looks ok
i'd rather have analog gauges too though
Re: Work in progress. 5th gen interior concept
I don't like the a/c vent to the left of the steering wheel. This looks really really similar to the 4th gen interiors. I don't like how that one on the left makes my hand freeze when I have it open.

OK i have it pretty much finished, or atleast a couple versions of it. I left the guage pod alone but a: finished everything else and in one of them changed the AC and shape of dash.
Here's 1
Here's 2
dials have multiple purposes to reduce amount of buttons. the volume button is also push for power and to switch between radio and cd. the "adj" button is by its self to go through radio stations one by one (not seek or presets) if a cd player it will be like fast forward and rewind. push it and u go through various sound settings like base, balance, etc. so not many buttons are needed.
I'll do different versions of the guage cluster a little later on.
