In a way I hope Sky doesn't get a targa, let Pontiac have some differentiation from other GM divisions.

Is it a coupe or a targa? If a targa, what's the point?

I was told Targa.

This is the definition of a "targa" from wikipedia.

Targa top, targa for short, is a semi-convertible car body style with a removable roof section and a full width roll bar behind the seats. The rear window can be fixed or removable, making it a convertible type vehicle. In common usage, any piece of metal or trim which rises up from the side of a car and continues in an uninterrupted line over the roof and down the other side may be called a targa band, or sometimes a wrapover band. Targa tops are different from T-tops, which have a solid, non-removable bar running between the top of the windshield and the rear roll-bar.

A trunk . This car might actually be useful for a couple to take out of town for a weekend without the passenger holding everything u brought .....and a car u dont have to un-do and fold up the bottom of the vert top just to open the tiny little trunk . Aaaand , I live about 10 minutes from the Tire Rack , there a quite a few folks that race these cars and are pretty serious about it . Prediction ....vert sales will drop off alot . Errrr hopefully they thought to make the trunk more useful on a car that doesnt have a folding top . The targa panel has to go in there , but I would assume it'd take up a fraction of the space a folded top would .

A base Solstice GXP targa with the solo handling package and a manual trans would be a fun little car .

Good question, the Sky looks far better than the Solistice and would look even better with a targa.

That's what I'm afraid of. A Solstice coupe would make for a nice inexpensive track car. A targa wouldn't be much safer than a convertible.

The Solstice receives 4 stars all around if I remember right. It's a very, very safe convertible.

The targa vette coupe would suffer the same problem , no ? I hope Solstice targa is more of a coupe with a targa top ( read..hatch) , than just something like a Del Sol with a small flat rear window . Its not like Im buying one , but executed properly this could be really cool car . I get what your saying jg ....a hard top coupe with a vette like hatch would almost get me into consideration mode .
