will you actually buy a 5th gen?
Re: will you actually buy a 5th gen?
I'm buying a tow vehicle for my current Camaro in the next year or so... Once that's piad off ~ I have full intentions on purchasing a brand spankin' new Camaro. Probably in the 2nd model year they come back out though.. Get rid of the bugs and what not.
Re: will you actually buy a 5th gen?
If the car is done right and for the right price I would consider a Base Z28 if they make such a thing. The bottom V8 and a Manual trans is all that I need. My wife is really wanting a summer car for herself and wants a new Mustang BAD. So the Camaro if I can hold her off long enough would be for her. But she cant drive it all the time.
Re: will you actually buy a 5th gen?
For me, yes, I'd love to buy one... but it's really impossible to say... I need to know what it looks like, how it drives, the price, what equipment is offered, etc...
Re: will you actually buy a 5th gen?
Absolutely, so long as GM gives me the reasonably priced, base model V8 I've screamed about on here for over 2 years now
Make a V8 model cost over $30K in present dollars and, uh, no....I'm praying a nice 5.3 base or RS model with power goodies and t-tops comes in around $26k in today's dollars...seems reasonable to me!

Re: will you actually buy a 5th gen?
the thing about the Camaro is this
i am hoping GM won't over produce them. still making profit, but everyone wants to be exclusive.
Whether or not i will be able to afford one when they come out is the question for me. I'm in college right now don't exactly have 35k for a car. although it would be nice.....

Re: will you actually buy a 5th gen?
Having owned 4 F-bodies, I SHOULD be interested in the idea of a 5th Gen Camaro. However, my patience with the relatively primitive design and engineering of these cars, their high initial purchase price, comparatively poor resale performance, high insurance rates, poor ride comfort, inefficient use of interior space, engine compartments that discourage backyard mechanics, extensive use of cheap plastics, high level of road noise, and overall poor value for dollar, is pretty well exhausted.
Add in an absolutely abysmal dealership experience, and it is extremely unlikely I will buy another one.
We test drove a 2004 Honda Accord V6 coupe the other day. $35,000 car, about what the Firehawk cost new. Very pleasant car to ride in, quiet, comfortable, reliable, solid. Top notch fit and finish, great quality materials, great stereo. Good power from the V6. I'm not someone who normally likes imports, but I was favorably impressed.
I think I've outgrown Camaros and Firebirds.
I'd be interested in a Corvette, but cannot consider paying $1000 per month for at least 6 years in order to afford one.

Re: will you actually buy a 5th gen?
My decision must wait until I see a few things:
First and foremost, The new Camaro itself. Size, shape, engine/transmission choices and most importantly, PRICE.
I also want to see what is happening with the Kappas. I would consider a Nomad or another 2+2 Kappa coupe from Chevy, especially if I could get one with a different engine.
Best case senario, Chevy brings out a new Camaro and a 2+2 kappa and I have a hard choice to make...
Mainly, I want a new pony car.

I have two camaros, working on getting my third. Next winter I'll get a truck, and after that, I'll be waiting for my 5th gen. Then it can come in and be the daily driver. I'll have a drag car (98 w/o LS1), road course car (94 1LE), and beater/cruiser car(3rd gen iroc) all in the driveway next to it.
6 speed, v8, ttops, blue. Z/28 only.
