Will Charger EAT GTO?

Charger details are sketchy...but we're pretty certain that it will have the 345 hp 5.7L HEMI and the 6.1L HEMI. I would expect Charger to wiegh more than GTO, however.

The 6.1 will reportedly have 440hp and depending on who you believe...maybe close to 500 ft/lbs of torque.

Even after GTO gets the LS2...does anyone think that Charger will eat GTO alive?

Hemi 300C is 4000lbs.?

I could see the smaller Charger coming in at 3600-3700lbs.

If the Charger gets the 6.1, sounds like it. If it just gets the 5.7 hemi with 340, then the LS2 GTO will still be faster.

yea, the charger will eat it alive. the 300C's are quick and their heavy and only have autos. put a 6 or 7 speed, maybe a rear end hear option, shave some weight, i say it touches 12's

I'm going with "No."

The GTO is getting a redesign in just a few years. Its going to be a different car altogether. I bet they'll make it a little more sportier, shed some weight and add some ponies with some kind of LS2 or 7 for top of the line. I think it'll hang.

If the Charger gets the 6.1 Hemi and weighs in the 3600-3800 category with a T-56 (as is rumored), then it will be no contest. If it gets the 5.7 Hemi and weighs as much as the 300C, then GTO wins.

Yup, by that time the GTO will have more power. I could care less for a 4 door Charger so it doesn't matter to me how fast it is.

From what we have heard, the possible 400+hp, 400+tq, mid 3k lb weight range, RWD, with T56 setup, will be had by both. Might come down to trim levels or drivers, the way it should

And since the T56 has been in everything that is good, and the LS1/2 and the Hemi are being put into everything that will hold it, either one should be able to do what you want to with the car. I cant wait to see the new charger.
