Yeah that is more like it. My point wasn't that nobody would buy it if it only ran a 15s flat time, but rather that a bump of 40HP better net something because we've already run that with an old motor. I personally would be disappointed if the next V6 model was not in the 14's where cars like the Altima 3.5 and Accord Coupe already are.

If it kept up with the likes of the 350Z, Id be happy. I think the V6 model needs to be have a bigger part, and that will draw a lot more sales. V8 sales will always be there, its the appeal to the average driver is what is needed. 250-260hp would be fine to push a 3400-3500lb car into the 14's.

I would hope so since the 265hp mustangs run low 14's at that weight!

That's probably alittle optimistic. If you're talking 1/4 mile...the 350Z is LT1 quick.

Z284ever, I think you're going to be surprised by how well the V6 Mustang is going to handle. The next V6 Camaro is going to really have to be done right. I have no doubt the their next chassis can handle it.

I'll know very soon. I signed up for a test drive. I'll report my findings.

Perhaps you haven't noticed the cold corpse of the 4th gen, or noticed that gapping whole in Chevrolet's line up?

If you can't sell alot of base Camaros, you don't have "muscle" Camaros. Period.

We know little about the ride/handling characteristics of the GM chassis Camaro will use. From all the reviews of the Mustang drives people have done, there is supposedly very little to no body roll. It's a very stiff chassis and well built. I finished reading the dealer preview guide this morning and it looks impressive. More standard features on a Mustang that's much much better than all the previous models for a small increase in price. Let us know how the test drive goes.

BTW, I hear they're letting people really stomp the gas in the GT, so go ahead and drop the hammer

Well we actually know nothing about it's characteristics. But we can take some good guesses. And my guess is that it will feel very much like Sigma.

And regarding the Mustang; don't worry....if they don't object...I'll flog it to within an inch of it's life.

Oh yeah, make sure traction control is off. Wouldn't want you to get a bad impression.

I think they should make a v-6 SC option. Like the 3.8 SC in the GTP????

Wouldn't surprise me one bit, if a dealer installed SC...with warranty...were available on the V6.

have you compared the gear ratio of a mustang to the Camaro's? Thats the only reason the mustang can keep up.

Besides that this car really will be a bargain (i'm hoping in the v8 form)

Gotta remember, v6 is basically a bread and butter car. Suspension will be soft, acceleration decent, and the overall package geared more towards everyday grocery getting than a track/strip pounding.

The v6 is not about high performance, that's what the z28's and the SS's are all about. With that said, i don't see GM doing anything extreme with the v6 car.

One could also say that GM had to use a larger displacement engine to beat Mustang...
