Question Will the 5th gen be based on the SS concept?

I know alot of folks in here are in the know so is that rumor out there in those circles? With all this photoshoping of the SS I was wondering if it's just desperate Camaro junkies grasping at anything that resembles a sports car to be the 5th gen or if it was a real possibility.

BTW, before the flames start, I know alot (most?) people who post in here regularly hope the 5th gen isn't based on the SS. I am just asking if the people in here close to the pulse of GM if that's the general direction the car is going or not.

In the GONGOS Survey, there was a here to fore unseen concept with a front end resembling a 1st gen Camaro. The rear was said to be reminisent of the SS concept. Not a copy mind you, there were changes done.

So, in short, there are some facts to back up an SS concept-like 5th gen. I'm sure we'll see some cues from it in future cars. Still there's nothing set in stone....no one can yet say for sure.

RP said no before and I hope he was being serious. That thing is not a Camaro and no matter what you do to it it still doesn't look like a Camaro. People keep trying to make it Camaro-like but it just isn't happening.

I think RP's answer was in response to the question "Is the SS concept a future Camaro?" You can take that a couple ways....if he meant literaly no than that does leave the door open for use of general style or theme.

If he meant no in reference to the car's entire styling theme, then the GONGOS survey would seem to refute that.

SS concept in and of itself is obviously not a Camaro. Though it's a cool car....

I do agree that the newer photoshopped ones do not look like a Camaro. The round curves look too "bubbly" and not quite right. I haven't seen one that's really come close yet to what I'd like.
