why i dont like corvettes
Thing is we all know that it takes very little to free up the hidden horsepower that the stock f-body LS1 intake and exhaust are hiding. That done, the f-bod and vette (non-z06) are even HP wise.
And even if there is a stigma in some people's eyes about the vette being superior, why should any of us care? We know what the gap really is and many an f-bod has been know to lay the smack down on an uneducated, unsuspecting vette owner or two.
-C5 and f-bod owner.

I am tired of chevy attitude with the vette back when in the muscle car era camaros worked vettes at the drag. Lately its wait the corvette has 350 horespower so we need to resrict the camaro so so it not quite as fast. The corvette appeals diffently to people how many vettes have you seen being raced. Usually vettes are auto conv. with a old man driving lik a bit*h. My point if they come back with a camaro i would like to see a SS model that outruns the top of the line vette. i dont think it will really hurt corvette sales because many vette owners have no intrest lika a f-body owner. I never really liked vettes there to polished a lately there looking more and more sudle. My dream the 2005 camaro SS under 40,000k Ls6 supercharged from the factory . That is possible but than dont have the *****. with that car i would just laugh at fords pathetic cobra and take money from viper drivers.

It should also be noted that there are other aspects that make a car great. Straight line acceleration is nice, but thats not the end all performance measuring stick. As far a platform, the Vette has always been light years ahead of the f-body. The F-body is a very compatent handler, but the Vette is just that much better.
Like the advertisement used to say, a Z/28 is the "closest thing to a Vette yet."

factory Forced induction is not my thing... thats the point of buying a supercharger/turbo... if they make the 5th gen at say 375-425 hp range NA that would be alot more impressive then the same hp with an SC.... i always like to think of it was this.. ok... 390 hp SVT--- super charged... stock lt1.. 275.. stock lt1 supercharged 400+ hp.... enough said
Let me break it down for you hulkster...All the Camaro needs to be is a car with easily unlocked potential. All the people that want power will find out how to get it and the rest who don't need the power won't have to pay for it at the dealer or in hihger insurance payments.
