Why don't Chevy cars have Nav??
Why don't Chevy cars have Nav??
You can get a Nav system in a Chevy SUV, Nissan, Honda, and Toyota all offer the option in there mainstream cars, so why can't you get Nav on an Impala? If they want to make the Cobalt look more upscale, offer Nav on that too for $1400. I know a lot of people that would spring for the option but don't want to have to buy a $35K+ car to get it.
Re: Why don't Chevy cars have Nav??
What would be the reason for getting the Buick then? Seriously Honda, Nissan, and to a degree Toyota don't have as many brands to keep up with as GM. If you make the same options on everything, what is the point to buy the more expensive model?

Buick LaCrosse dosn't have a Nav option either. I hope at least the next Gen Saturn Ion has the option, Not every one wants to buy a boat sized car/truck to get Nav.
Camaro and next GTO should offer the option too.

If the 2006 Ford 500/Freestyle can have a navigation system option, why not a mainstream Chevy???
The Fusion will make it available for the 2007 model year also.
If you want a navigation system, you shouldn't be forced to buy a more expensive car. While its not an option that I want, I know alot of people do. By limiting its availability to higher priced cars, all you do is force some buyers to go elsewhere.

also notice the Z06 has the Nav option

I am not happy about it, as it is not something that I really want or need, but GM is planning to make OnStar standard on all vehicles by 2007. I think this is funny since some cars currently do not even come standard with ABS
! Anyway, maybe that is a step towards making navigation optional on all cars as well. Just a thought.

General Motors announced today that two proven life-saving safety technologies, OnStar and electronic stability control, will become standard features for retail customers in the United States and Canada, covering all segments and prices except for some commercial vehicles.
The fast-track expansion of OnStar-equipped vehicles begins this year and will be completed in 2007. The first year of OnStar safety and security service is included on all OnStar-equipped vehicles.
Electronic stability control, sold as StabiliTrak, is standard on many GM full-size SUVs and will expand to midsize SUVs this year. Remaining GM SUVs and vans will have StabiliTrak standard by the end of 2007. It will be standard on all GM cars and trucks sold to retail customers by the end of 2010. As enablers of electronic stability control, antilock brakes and traction control will become standard as well.

Re: Why don't Chevy cars have Nav??
Chevy should have a Nav option on most of their rides, but I will take my Camaro without one. Haven't need Nav yet, and I am pretty sure I can get along with out. Same goes for Onstar, although it doesn't look like I will have much say in whether or not I have the choice of getting it.
