Why is this called 5th gen discussion

Why is this called 5th gen discussion when real information is not allowed on the board.

It just seems like a waste of time when the only discussions allowed are the ones that are based on fantasy not facts.

If there is a 5th gen f body in the works when will it be produced, where will it be built. The original plant is gone somthing this large has to be built somewhere.

If GM doesn't want to talk about a future f body why are they so eager to talk about all there other future cars.

You'd be better off asking JasonD that in a PM (and I advise you ask it delicately, since we're only guests here, and he has no obligation to put up with ANY of us if he doesn't want to)

Re: Why is this called 5th gen discussion

I remember for a short while, "the 5th gen" part of the forum name was dropped, and a lot of people complained.. Back in the day when people were more positive, and still had the faith.. So Jason put "the 5th gen back"

Right?

Re: Why is this called 5th gen discussion

The question is, when the 5th gen comes out, will this become the 6th Gen forum?

I assume it will just go back to the "future Camaros" section

When it comes down to it, this board actually is mostly for speculation and fantasy.

If you want reality, check out the Ford or Mustang boards.

Thats what I have a problem with, from all the talk it seems a forgone conclusion the fbody is coming back.

The thing that is confusing is where is the proof, the smoking gun, something other then " by brothers nephews cousins friends neighbour stuff "

If its gone thats OK but if it's not , spread the word.

We have more than speculation regarding a 5th gen Camaro? I must have missed something. I thought we only have a vague idea of the new Chevy performance coupe, and that it might not even be called Camaro. That is not solid information, that is called speculation.

So 5th Gen might be speculation, but Ford and Mustang boards will not provide anything beyond this speculation on 5th gen either. They have facts and speculation on future Ford products as well.

Besides, a lot of other car news not related to 5th gen gets here quite early and is credible, not any less than other boards.

I just think you're frustrated.

That doesn't make this a "fantasy" discussion forum. Its just a place for enthusiasts to speculate and trade rumors/insider information with eachother and putting together the peices. Fantasy would be something like playing D&D with eachother

You missed my point bro. Of course the Ford and Mustang boards don't have facts on the 5th gen Camaro. I meant that the Ford and Mustang boards deal with a real V8 RWD performance car: the '05 Mustang and the up-coming '06 Cobra.

We shall see what the up-coming SVT Mustang Cobra will be putting out as far as horsepower is concerned. If the 400+ hp rumors are true (which they very well may be), then speculation as to whether or not the new Chevy performance coupe will be able to compete with it move farther away from speculation and further into fantasy.

The original post I made was a comparison between the situation on this board regarding the 5th gen Camaro and the situation with the current Mustang.

I do hope that GM will eventually put all of my concerns to rest, but until then, "I'll believe it when I see it".
