The thing is it should be something that starts out low an builds to a roaring cresendo when the car actually appears. Kind of like like what GM did with Cadillac in the recent "Zeppelin/Rock And Roll" commercials.

Whatever song it is, I still like my idea of the Randy Quaid voice over from "Independance Day" with the new Camaro spinning its tires and kicking up dust on a parked Mustang and "whatever" Dodge/Chrysler/Daimler considers their contender of the moment, and ole' Randy saying, "Hello boys! I'm BACK!!"

Its gotta be rock & roll though.

Gotta be "Back in Black" with a black Z28 doing some kinda 4 wheel drifts.

That or "I can't drive 55"

They need to make like 50 commercials, with all of these ideas, they're awesome. I'm gonna have to burn a CD based on this post alone

opening of the commercial..its just a black screen...
then you see the light glimmering off an emblem..you didnt know you were looking at a cars fender..it just catches the hint of Z28..or ...camaro...as it goes from left to right for a split second...you read those words....you hear a heart beat..its black again..

another heart beat..you hear keys in an agnition..turning..an engine turning..THEN!!!!!!.....

silence............

then a long guitar slide...swaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccccc....and then..

You see through the foggy road headights blaring racing out of the fog and past you..to the left.. music blaring...
"For whom the bells toll" Metallica...
then comes swideways to a stop on wet pavement!. on a sunset tarmac...
"Introducing the New Camaro Z28"...
"just in time for its birthday party" reving the engine...
and then a black screen with the chevy logo.

LoL thad be tite, except IMO i would say before he says "Introducing the New Camaro Z28" It should continue on in the song to go "Time marches on!"
so itd be like:

"For whom the bells toll" Metallica...
then comes swideways to a stop on wet pavement!. on a sunset tarmac...

To most of the ideas...

Not to enthuised about some of the songs but that's probaly because I haven't even heard of them before...

I do agree that they should have as many different comercials as possible. Advertise the thing when it comes back! Anyways onto my idea for the younger crowd...

Its around midnight..at a stop light, a ricer pulls up next to a '03 cobra. The light is still red and the camera rotates around to a rear view of the 2 cars about to race and on the side for about a block you can see 'stangs on one side, ricers on the other. Only light is a few streetlights and of course the strobes and neons from the ricers and mustangs on the sides. The light turns green and of course the stangs smokes the little riceboy off the line, they get about a block down the road and you hear the new camaro. The camera flips 180* and you catch a glipse of the camaro badge on the nose (same one on the 4th gens now) (the camera for that is in "bullet time", which is the same thing they created most of the action seens in the matrix with if you don't know what bullet time is). All of a sudden everyone on the sides gets in thier cars and pulls away. Now all thats left is the ricer, the mustang, and the camaro. The camaro just flys right past the little ricer with some crazy type of camera movement. The ricer's engine blows up and starts smokin as its left broke down on the side of the road. The camera follows the camaro from behind and does a fly over of the Camaro and notices the mustang is turning onto a on-ramp of a highway. As the camaro approaches the on-ramp, the camera turns around to get a partial front-side view of the car. It rotates to follow the car onto the interstate and ends up in a elevated view of the rear. The camaro is now quickly gaining on the mustang and the camera goes into an inside view of the car and guages. Speeds of 160 and still rising are shown and the driver changes to 6th gear. Now the camera goes back to an elevated and angled side view, its within a few feet of the mustangs rear and both cars are in the center lane, the camaro is right behind the mustang. As the car creeps to within a few inches, the mustang is sucked right into the ram air scoop and the camera slows to stop in its place to show the camaro storm off. On the side of the highway, a billboard is shown with a pic of the new camaro z/28 and release date. All the while, just the beat of nelly number one is played low, except right when the billboard is shown, have the course play where it says what does it take to be number?, two is not the winner and three nobody remembers.

Now that would be a sweet commerical.

Drowning Pool "Bodies" (as the new camaro blows by every other new sports car)

Godsmack "Bad Religion"

Fear Factory's Version of "Cars"

A vote for Metallica - Fuel. Lots of other good ones though, Back in Black is a strong candidate also.
There's a (damn) Mistsubishi SUV commercial out now with an awsome guitar playing, but I don't know who/what it is. I made the comment to my wife last night that I liked the music, but I wish it was being used to intro the new fifth gen Camaro. It's really wasted on the Mitsu.

I think Back in Black and Fuel would rock, as would some of the other ideas. My idea is Pearl Jam's "Do the Evolution" IT'S EVOLUTION,BABY!
