Just the same, I voted for lettering.

I like the lettering. It SHOULD be there. It has to say CAMARO somewhere and IMO thats the best place for it. Plus my reflective vinyl inserts look great. I dont think that the Mustang having the same thing but on the bumper cover has anything to do with anything. The Camaro should have it and it doesnt matter what other cars do.
Personally, I think that it's alittle tacky. Obviously there should be some sort of "Camaro" ID....but does it really need to be that large?
I mean, don't we all know that their Camaros? Do you think the rest of the world is impressed by those huge letters.
Can you imagine a BMW or Infiniti with those huge letters embossed across it's rump?
I consider it one step away from neon lights.

It's just that after some of the other input threads put up by other members so far, a poll on whether or not Camaro should keep it's letters on the rear bumper pale in comparison next to, for example, PacerX's thread of not long ago. That thread comprehensively covered every complaint and idea and then some by everyone on the 5th gen.
In a way, this seems kind of like that long awkward silence after a good far reaching conversation where someone feels the need to say something to break the silence, and it comes across exactly that way: as something said to break the silence.
Not a slam against anyone, this is simply an observation and nothing more. It's just interesting some of the items that come up to fill a vacuum.
Reminds me of trips to Venice Beach Sunday mornings. Just when you think you've seen it all, you see something new to remind you that you haven't yet.
I'm with Z284 here. Every1 knows what the car is and they're gigantic. I think the later 2nd and Thirds had almost no visable Camaro identification on them at all. Well some Thirds did have it, usually on the grill, but if you had a license plate you weren't seeing it. But I'd rather it like that or more like the 1st Gens, maybe a little emblem on the sides of the car or either on the front or rear but nothing overdone like the 4ths. Sometimes being more subtle can be better.

What is soooo overdone about the lettering on the back? It's body colored and slightly engraved and not even noticeable from a distance. Either way it couldn't possibly be a make-or-break styling cue.
Ohhhh yeah, the 3rd gens didn't have it!

Exactly. It works just fine.
It seems to work OK for Corvette too...
