so are those who think the SS should be tops.....and no, I don't dislike the Z28 name.....I was absolutely floored when my father got the first 69 Z28 in for stock...........and I think the name has incredible equity........yes, when you say "I have a Z28, people know what it is....when you say "I have an SS" they don't.

As to the debate.

Please.......

Just kill me now.

I have not read a "new idea" in this area of debate in the past two years...........................please......give it a rest, guys.....all it does is get your blood pressure up.........and I don't want you having a stroke and not be able to enjoy a 5th gen........

Red, please see my post a little lower on this forum regarding will there or will there not be a 5th gen, and what do people know...

I have a feeling you could add some real value to that conversation

I just ask RP, that you guys (and yes I know that you don't make the decisions alone) give the Z28 back some of what it deserves. It means alot to alot of people. Give it some advantages and distinctive looks over the other cars. The Z28/Z06 idea IS popular and so is letting the car be the "1LE." There can be room for all the models, if done correctly.

And no /!!

Just do this...

Z/28 = 6.0L V8 w/ performance handling. (coupe only).

SS = 8.1L V8 w/ all the bells & whistles. (coupe or drop-top).

You'll make both camps happy... and I just might buy one of each!

You know, for the longest time, I used to automatically type "Z/28"......it was second nature until someone pointed out that our emblems did not have the slash for a gajillion years. I mean, I realized the emblem didn't have the slash...but it was so deeply embedded......

(how 'bout THEM apples, IZ28!!!!!)

Actually, put it in that new Aveo thinga-ma-jigger y'all got comin' out...

Just rip out the front seats, sit in the back, and enjoy 16 cylinders and 2000 lbs. Hey, Hot Rod put a 500 ci Caddy motor in a Chevtte about 10 years ago...it'll work here too

With DOD the sucker should get like 40 MPG in an Aveo, right???

I think the engine alone is worth 2000 lbs!

How about a Caprice?

I bet I'm one of maybe a thousand people that want the Caprice name to come back to the States. But I'm one of thousands of people that want a V8 powered RWD full size sedan (the current impala is NOT a full size car!)

I'm with you. The B-Bodies were/are great cars.

I'm now beginning to realize that I tend to post in outbursts. Here's another folks!

I used to read and post in this forum all the time while I was at work and at home. Due to the recent barrage of Z28 vs. SS threads, I couldn't care less whether I check this forum 3 times a day or once every 3 days. True there's no news right now, I know. But resorting to Z28 vs. SS threads is lame. Then on top of that, we get an interesting thread going and some assclown comes along and takes the word "Z28" in the thread and makes it his duty to convert it to a Z28 vs. SS thread.

You guys know who you are. Give it a rest please? PLEASE???

I want the 5th gen as much as you do, but this forum is becoming lamer amd lamer when all we do is post about Z/28 vs. Z28 and Z28 vs. SS all the time.

GuionM even posted before that now is the time to say what we want in a 5th gen! Trusting him as I usually do, I say we post, as we have been recently, about REALISTIC things that we want to see on the 5th gen! You know... exclude the desire for the weight of a go-kart, a 9000hp supercharged dragster engine, handling of a slot car, and a base price for the V8 around $15.73 not including the $30.12 rebate on it.

Realistic being: sigma and VE hybrid platform to be shared with the GTO, around a 3400 lb curb weight, an LS2 engine with around 420hp, and about a mid $35k price range for the top model (note the lack of a Z28 or SS listed there to avoid a Z28 vs. SS discussion here).

If not, then I think I'm going to go post somewhere else in my free time at night, or maybe I'll go study, read a book, clip my toenails, poke my eyeball, make booze in my bathtub, build a zepplin on my patio, etc. Just something else with my free time.
