Make it more GTO like, and less 4th gen like. Make it more civilized. If its another super-car wanna be, I am not gunna be happy.

BTW, all you people who feel that GTO is too big to be a Camaro should check this out:
Camaro vs GTO
length:193.5 vs 189.8
width:74.1 vs 72.5
height:51.2 vs 54.9
wheelbase:101.1 vs 109.8
track (f/r): 60.7/60.6 vs 61.8/62.1
GTO is SMALLER than Camaro in length & width.
It has a longer wheelbase (good) wider front & rear track (very good) and is over 3" taller (not as good).

My complaint with GTO is that much of the space in the rear seat is unnecessary in a ponycar and that the car is generally too heavy.
Lose 2-3 inches in the wheelbase (right at the rear seats) and make the car an inch or two shorter and we're in business.
The hallmarks for an F5 Camaro in my mind should be:
"Wheels to the corners, low and wide, smaller than a midsize, 2+2 seating, available big V8, potent V6 standard, available manual transmission, coupe, convertible, T-tops."

The car does weigh about as much as a same sized Mustang Cobra, even though it's fully loaded, however.

Ah, I want as much rear seat room as possible. Cut the Monaro roof line down as well as sink the seating postion in it, and you have the basic set up of what Id like the 5th gen to be. If you want less back seat room, buy another 4th gen.
Re: When GM decided to kill funding for the 5th gen
The Camaro has NEVER been a true four place coupe. The rear seats need to be "useable" for short trips, but not Cadillac sized. Besides, there's more room in the rear of a 4th gen than in a Mustang...
Let's not make it something it has never been...or wants to be for that matter. The Camaro does NOT need to be a sedan!
If you need "real" rear seats, but something else......I still want a sports car.

That's exactly right, Doug. I'm not looking for sedan-type seating in a Camaro. I'm not looking for sedan-type anything in a Camaro. No sedan-type seating, no sedan-type exterior dimensions, no sedan-type height. There are other cars I can buy that fulfill those needs. Camaro does not need to be all things to all people. That formula would NOT make a Camaro. I'm not interested in a Camaro which is a RWD Monte Carlo.
I want Camaro to be a "pony car" again...not a restyled GTO.

As for a true 4 place coupe, the rear seat of the 1st gen, illusion it may be, seemed pretty roomy. Not new GTO roomy, but roomy enough.

I had to look it up, but you're right!

An H2 is 189.9"! 3 1/2" shorter than a Camaro!

A rear quarter window....which we believe the 5th gen will have....will give the perception of greater roominess.
Re: When GM decided to kill funding for the 5th gen
Well I guess im gunna be buying a GTO and not a Camaro. No way in hell am I gunna buy something of 4th gen interior dimension. If the Camaro uses the chassis of the GTO/Monaro, I hope that the interior is about the same size, while keeping a very slim and agressive figure. I think GM can pull it off. Have both a roomy, yet agressive car.
Its not that the Camaro has never been a true 4 place seater...its what it NEEDS to be. Adapt, evolove, change. You cannot bring out a Camaro that follows along the lines of the 4th gen.
Id love a low-slung sports car too....its called Corvette.
