When is the 2010 LaCrosse going to be at dealers?
When is the 2010 LaCrosse going to be at dealers?
I think I originally heard production would start in March and the car would be at dealers in April. In April I heard it'd start in May and be at dealers in early dune. In late May I heard it WAS under production and would be at dealers by late June. Now it's early/mid July and I haven't checked back with my dealer (who has no idea I ended up buying an Aura so I'm surprised they're not keeping in touch with me about the LaCrosse) but I know they're still not on anyone's lots as far as I can tell.
I'm glad I ended up getting the Aura because my GM card had a temporary promotion for the month of June where I could use all the $$ I had on it... no cap at all. I was going to wait to look at the LaCrosse but I feared it might not end up making it in time for the end of June. Guess I made the right call. Not to mention my purchase price on the Aura after all promos was $16k flat... with the LaCrosse being brand new I'd probably be lucky to get a CXL for under 30k even after the GM card rebate, and then 6 months later I'd be seeing people getting them for many thousands less than I paid, and it'd **** me off.
But anyhow... back on topic, my dad is interested in the 2010 LaCrosse and I told him we'd go look at it soon, so he was assuming it's already at the dealerships, and it's not. Anyone know what the delay is and when it'll be showing up?

According to the Kansas City Star, they are being made and should start hitting dealerships soon:
"Although the new LaCrosse is being made now at the Fairfax plant, GM has not set a launch date when the new cars will be shipped en masse to dealers nationwide. Union officials at the plant said the launch probably will occur after workers return from the summer shutdown next month."

The shutdown referenced above (the article is from June 22) is the June 26 shutdown week. Fairfax is running this week. So I'd assume that could mean cars heading to dealers any day now.
I'll let you know if I start seeing carriers with them on the highway. I usually see 3-5 carriers of Malibus on my way to work every day.

I am not sure how that will work considering the different engines they have.
I have noticed a LOT of inaccuracies on various GM websites. When I was shopping for my Aura the Saturn website confused me more than it educated me due to some incorrect equipment level listings.
It's only the CXL AWD that is rated at 252hp/215tq and gets 16/26 with a larger gas tank. So the AWD drains a little bit of power and losses some mpg which would be expected.
The CXS has the VVT 3.6L and that gets 280hp/259tq but it rated at 17/27mpg.
It's interesting that all models have the same final drive ratio of 2.77 so what isn't known is the internal gear ratios of the A6. That's all I can think for why the larger and more powerful 3.6L VVT matches the 3.0L in mileage at least per the website.
That is what I was concerned about. My guess is that it is an error on the site. I haven't seen any official numbers on EPA mileage for the LaCrosse.
