What Would You Like To Know From Mark Reuss? For GMHTP Interview
Now that GM has pooled it's performance talent into the new GM Performance Division, I would like to know how this division will incorporate the desires, needs, and/or ideas of the enthusiast consumer as well as those who race GM products into GMPD's mission?

I would like to hear a few answers to general questions about General Motors.
Why do they insist on being so secretive? It is difficult for consumers to be brand loyal, if they are unaware of definite plans for a future model they wish to purchase. For instance; I knew 6 months ago that Ford was going to release the 12 sec Mustang Mach 1, so do I wait for a 5th Gen Camaro and miss the boat on an awesome Mustang (sorry), or should I jump ship and buy an affordable, fast, handsome muscle car from Ford that will be available in dealers everywhere?
I am also curious as to why GM does not actively support an aftermarket for their products, like Mopar (Mopar Performance) and Ford (Ford Racing). I know they do have the GM Performance catalog, but there are few select GM New Car dealers in the country that actively support the program. Ford Racing parts are distributed across the country through dealers, speed shops, tuners, internet, mail order, etc. This support gives the Mustang owner a piece of mind that can only come from a factory engineered part. It also builds brand loyalty and is a profitable means of servicing a customer post-sale.
There are several, safety related issues with my 1997 Camaro that are known (service bulletin) problems. Driveshaft vibration at highway speed, power window motor failure, Evaporative Emissions Failure(canister, and purge solenoid)....Are these problems not addressed because it is cheaper to deal with the lawsuits than recall the vehicles?
I know it is a big boat with a small rudder, but why is it taking so many years for GM to pick a direction and stick with it? We've been fighting a battle with performance cars out of GM for 30 years. The Camaro saga is just a continuation of the GTO, Fiero, Chevelle, Grand National, Imapala SS, Etc. Do they feel they know what their customers want? What is it that they feel their customers want?
I know this is lengthy, so feel free to cut, paste, edit, ignore, etc.
Thank you, Johnny, for offering the communtity the opportunity to make their voices heard. You are a true enthusiast. I hope your (our) efforts are rewarded soon.

Here are my questions and thoughts.
I would like how the future GM RWD programs will affect the Chevrolet division. Will there be a full-size RWD V8 powered Chevy performace sedan, something like the Mid-East Chevy CapriceSS?
GM brand labeling made Chevy the value brand and pontiac the performance brand.
Will Chevrolet get a new performance image like back Chevys golden age?
GM been bombared with letters, emails, etc. from fans of the F-Bodies, begging to save the cars. How does GM execs. feel about this out pooring of feelings?

1) With the upcoming excitement building with the GTO, will Pontiac transfer the GTO to NHRA Prostock competition in place of the Grand Am in order to emphasize the legend and performance that is GTO?
2) Is there still plans for a version of the Opel Speedster to come to the US as a Pontiac? Perhaps a Solstice?
3) Will the XLR eventually some with an S/C?
4) Will there be a 2 door version of the new Grand Prix?
5) Will the next Chevrolet Malibu have an SS version?

Will SPO sell performance parts for engines other than the Chevy/Buick/Olds/Pontiac V8s and older V6s? The upcoming Ram Jet 4.3 and Ecotec performance parts lines are great, but will there be a Ram Jet 3.4 or 3.8? How about Cadillac parts for Northstar and the 3.2/3.6L V6?

I had just thought of two more questions and those were them!!! If we could get aftermarket parts that are made by GM and thus be covered by GM warranty that would be a huge hit with people.
