What model year will Ford put incentives on the Mustang?
Re: What model year will Ford put incentives on the Mustang?
Supply has caught up with demand on the V6. GTs are still short.
Incentives can come on at anytime if the economy tanks or intrest rates suddenly jack up.

GT's are averaging less than 1 week on the lot if it is a dealer ordered car.
V6's are at about 1 week.
Ordered cars are being picked up within a day of delivery.
Orders are still running about 2:1 dealer to individual.
As I recall, for this month there are 40k dealer orders on the books, and 20K individual SO's.
Ford is considering a lock-out of orders for remainder of 2005, moving them into 2006 instead.
AAI plant is running overtime and Saturdays to try and keep up.
Still no B or X-plan sales of the car to insiders yet either, though I have heard some dealers are considering X-plan to people if the car is on the lot - but no SO's.
The target for 2005 is 194,000 cars, and they appear to have it at this point.
My bet on the incentives... '07.

I was at a regional Mustang show this weekend... about 150-160 cars there. There were at least a dozen 2005 models there, ranging from a yellow V6 up to the Roush and Saleen cars, some with less than 200 miles on them. I can tell you now that these cars are a HUGE success inside the folds of Mustang collectors, and they are destined for long-term success. I was really amazed at the reception these cars have gotten from the toughest scrutinizers. That's a good thing IMO.

I would venture to 07 as well. AAI is going to start up a 3rd shift for 06MY so the supply for 06 will not be a problem as it is now for 05 (Which is just about done).
