What if Chevy combined a Nomad and Solstice?

I'm not a fan of photoshop, but this is an intresting idea. GM is still trying to find a way to make the Nomad acceptible in car clinics & I think the front end is very distinctive and makes the entire car.

What do you think of it??

Put enough power in it and go get all the people buying 350Zs who won't spent the extra $ for a Corvette.

At first glance it looks to me like a modern interpretation of this.

Looks pretty good, a lot better than the Nomad. I like it.

I like it. Reminds me of the car in the middle here.

Another pic.

They should call it the Corvair. I'd probably take that over the Solstice, but I could go either way.

Yah, I saw a corvette at first too. But I wouln't buy one of those, mainly because I hate that grill.

Jg, the new Nomad only has a 4. A turbo 4, but a 4 no less.

I think the Nomad would be a better idea then another roadster. Its not like the Solstice is that expensive where no one can get at one. I like the Nomad's hatch design, and ability to haul more then a**. 4 seats along with cargo room is a cool idea. I also like the idea of making it a hybrid car. I think that more people would opt for the Nomad then that Mars space craft Prius.

"Who said hybrid cars have to look like Quazar 28 space ships? Introducing the Chevy Nomad. Room for 4, fold flat rear and passanger seats for more cargo room then any car in its class, along with a 170hp hybrid ecotec engine that gets over 40 mpg highway. Welcome to the Revolution."

Bam... hot seller, and all they have to do is sell some 20-25k units a year. It would be a cake walk. Thats how you will get approval of these "clinics".

If anyone reads Top Gear and other British car rags, they loved the Nomad, and want GM to bring it over to there side of the pond.

Looks good, very 1st Gen Vette. I wouldn't want to see it built because it looks too much like a solstice.

Chevy doesn't need a Kappa vert. By 2007 Chevy will have a Vette and Camaro convertables and they could probably make a Cobalt, they don't need any more verts.

As yet another Kappa/Ecotec combo, I could care less. However, it does look better than the Solstice - and infinitely better than the dorky Nomad.

Here's an interesting twist on the photoshop:

What if we were talking about a car that had the same drivetrain as the C6 Corvette? If this "concept" featured 400hp, a T-56 6-speed and a MSRP less than $45k, would it be worthy of a Corvette badge?

The idea of a V8-powered Kappa with retro-'Vette styling...hmm....

.....I wonder if the Corvette badge could carry more than one carline? How about a poll?

I like the looks of the two vehicles combined. The result is an attractive little roadster in the vette kinda way. I don't think it should be produced though. Given the niche market aim of the Kappa cars, I think divisional offerings should be complementary and not just rebadged or restyled versions of the same car - that would just dilute the impact of each model in a limited market. I like that the Solstice, Curve, and Nomad offered the promise of something different for each divisions Kappa model in a complementary way. I am also a fan of the Nomad's styling as is. I'm just not sure that a four-banger under the hood appeals to me but the Nomad (as it is now) could have been an interesting alternative to consider in '07 when it comes time to get a new car.

I don't really care for the grill. I know it's a modern interpretation of the early '50's cars, but it really doesn't do anything for me. Looks like blatant brand engineering.

I do like Big Al's idea. That would be a great second car for me.

Car looks pretty good but I agree with Big Al. The Solstice is gonna be the Kappa roadster seemingly, so give Chevy the Nomad. Plus like others stated, Chevy will have two convertables here in a few years and I wouldnt be surprised to see a Cobalt 'vert sometime.
