I certainly hope we don't have IRS standard on an F-body.

An AWD F- body?!?
I hope, for everyone's sake, you're wrong.

P.S I also think all F-bodies should have TRUE DUALS from the factory. Mustangs get dual exhaust, GTO's get duals, why don't we? Come on GM, I know you can do it! Y-pipes suck!
You wouldnt understand the awd since your from florida. Dont get me wrong... I DONT WANT AWD... but theres a lot of people in the northern states who dont drive sports cars just because they handle so poorly in the snow. an awd option would make them happy, and I can gaurantee you it would help the sales figures. Oh yea, it has to be availible on the sixers... too many people at my school dont drive a sixer cause their parents wouldnt let have rwd.

I definetly agree on the true duals.

Oh I understand the AWD thing, I'm from Omaha Nebraska and lived there for 15 years. I can understand that some people want it to be AWD but I doubt it's gonna happen. Camaro has always been about performance and for 35 years Camaro and Firebird were RWD. Despite common belief, I DO NOT think GM is dumb enough to make the F-body into something it isn't, like FWD or AWD.

I think the main reason the F-body went under was lack of advertising and support from GM

I would like AWD to be an option... there isnt the slightest chance that it would be standard and thats good. But the fact is, too many people turn these cars down because of the rwd (even though they fail to realize that rwd is the best )

that second part most definetly had a major role in it.

I guess AWD as option wouldn't be a bad idea. I'm still for RWD though.

And as far as RWD being the best, that's more than true. I mean back in the 50's, 60's,70's and so forth how many FWD cars were out there? Hardly none if any at all. People managed to get around just fine then. When we lived in Omaha we had a 5.0 Thunderbird LX that was RWD and did fine in the snow. It even made it up to my grandparents which was on a long, up hill gravel road in iowa.

IRS will be standard on all Zeta cars.

Don’t let this freak you out so much, this is a good thing. This will give the Camaro a big advantage on all competition. Look at the Vette's IRS. It's great for drag racing and the of course in the curves on the Vette. Better ride too! If it’s done right we should have no worries. Just another advantage over the Mustang. If you’re a serious drag racer I imagine you won’t have a stock rear anyway. I assume the aftermarket will have a bullet proof 12-bolt with in a sort time after the 5th Gen's launch. This is all pretty much confirmed too by the insiders around here. I don’t think we will have to worry about the weakness of a 10-bolt any more.

Concerning AWD....

Well this is not a for sure thing from what I understand. However we are sure that Zeta can come in many forms. It is a RWD base architecture that can be stretched and shortened to make many different sized cars. So all Camaro’s will be based on RWD. However it can be easily modified to AWD. So don’t be too surprised if it’s an option on all Camaro models or maybe even standard on the top model. But the truth is we just don’t know for sure yet. AWD can be done, whether or not it will be is yet to be decided.

IT'S COMING BACK!! :gasp: :gasp: Be still my beating heart :gasp: :gasp:

Wow if that's true that's great. I'd heard lots of speculation but never any "facts" before. Wow I hope it's true. Looks like it's time for me to start saving my $$$$$.

Well I wouldn’t exactly say that what I stated as fact, but if you do some searches about the up coming 5th Gen you’ll come up with a lot of very true speculation.

We do know that a RWD “Sports Coupe” will be released by Chevrolet in the time period I stated before. We are about 99% certain this is the Camaro.

Kind of see what I’m saying?

Hey guys I've noticed this post has kinda died on me and I'm still looking for more feedback on my outline. Also I think I'm going to post an outline on what I'd like for the Firebird to be (if it evens come back)

In the meantime I've added a few things to my list of suggestions for a 5th gen F-body.

1. T-tops should be OPTIONAL and not put on every car sent to a dealer. Even though I love T-tops I know alot of people dislike them and this is about pleasing as many F-body drivers as possible right?

2. A hood with a SS style scoop should also be optional (possibly as part of the Rally Sport package?).

3. We definetly need new style exhaust tips. The Rectanguar tips are a nice idea but, just like with dual/dual tips, it looks EXTREMLY cheesy when they go back to tiny tips within 6 inches (like the Nissan 350Z, most Cadillacs and alot of Pontiacs.) Now I know emissions and all that won't allow us to have factory 3.5 inch tips without them being cosmetic. So why not have the rectangular tip cover the whole pipe? The little pipe would still be inside but the look would be much improved.

4. On Z/28's, the emblem should remember the 69 Z/28 emblems, Red/chrome. I mean Cavalier get "Z/24" emblems that look like the 69's...and they definetly look better than the black ones on all 4th gens.

Thanks again guys

Agreed. And I also think Z/28 looks better than Z28.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks so . I know a few people have swapped on older Z/28 emblems.
