Angry What are gas prices looking like by you?

So around here, the price of premium gas at high quality gas stations(I.e BP, Shell) has gone up to 2.09 a gallon..

For people not in Illinois, what does the price of gas look like around you? Higher, lower? Just wondering if everyone is as broke as Im gonna be if this war keeps up!?!?

I bought 10 gallons of the good stuff at 1.66 this morning at BP. There is even cheaper if you go to an off-brand place. Gotta love the gas prices here in Metro Atlanta.

Regular = $1.57
Medium = $1.67
Premium= $1.77

I commute 47 miles each way (at 70 mph speed limit, it only takes @45 mins, but still) and frequently travel to 135 or 220 miles to our three plants here in the Carolinas on engineering issues.
I do get reimbursed by my company for travel on road trips, but not for the commuting.
After the last 3 months, I feel raped.

And I can only imagine how this is hurting independent truckers and truck lines...
Some of us older guys may remember the trucker's strike on Washington in Reagan's last year of office... over fuel prices.
They locked-up interstate commerce for about a week, prompting government action. It may be coming again IMO.

I think my biggest beef with this is that it is all a farce to begin with.
There IS NO OIL SHORTAGE, just a refusal for OPEC members to sell product thereby driving up the price per barrel. And I just read today that Saddam has moved explosives into position around oil wells in Northern Iraq in case we do go in there...

Wow I feel lucky all of a sudden and I thought I had it bad. Premium is $1.69ish, while regular is at about $1.55ish here in West Texas. Though I hear that the Gas Stations here in Lubbock will jack up the prices towards the end of this week since all the college kids will be heading home for Spring Break. Texas Tech is the only real income for this dinky little town.

Oh yea?

I went back home to San Francisco this past weekend, and had to pay $2.25 per gallon for REGULAR! If I still had my premium fuel only Super Coupe I'd have to pay $2.54.

Feel better?

WOW people in CA are getting Fu#*ed. Why is to so much higher there? tax? I know you guys have to use that reformulated gas that is like 15-20 cents more but damn

even if the national price of gas drops by 50 cents after the war you poor bastards will still be paying $2.00 a gallon.
