Well....the perception here is that Chrysler just WASTED a LOT of moeny a few days after begging for money to stay alive.
I don't think that is everyone's perception...

Very true.... but it's not everyone's perception that Domestic's a junk compared to Imports, but that is the overall feel in the market.

While I have seen articles and radio/TV stories about what a waste this ad was... I have yet to see anything saying it was a good move.

Well....the perception here is that Chrysler just WASTED a LOT of moeny a few days after begging for money to stay alive.
Well consider how much CEO's are paid, and how many days were "wasted" in washington, etc. getting the money. Not to mention the time wasted DRIVING versus flying etc. and you'll see it's all one big PR game with costs not being the true factor, but perceived costs being the one.

It's like spending $20k to save $1k a year, but it will only last 10 years at most...

Oh, I tend to agree with you on that.... still, perceptioon is reality, even if it is wrong.

finance current operations for as long as they can. All the while meeting with Cerebrus, GM, Ford, Nissan, etc trying to answer the hard questions like now what...


merger, fold, make it.

Certainly they need to focus on spotless PR work. Perception can really hurt them, any of them
