Lightbulb What about a Heritage Camaro??

I think tihs is good idea. what about taking the 67' 68' 69' body style and just doing minor mods like fiberglass body parts and differant front and rear bumpers(not the hevy chome).redo the interior so it is up to today's standards and dropping the LS2 in it. and up grade the chassis to today's muscle car standards. that would be one sweet car!! and GM already has all the specs on the body parts so it would be easier then making a all new car from scratch. and maybe on the street by 2007. well i think that would be pretty sweet to see!! and only make them untill we have a full replacement.

i can see it now pulling up to a red light next to the new Mustang.and the stang owner saying nice 68' and you replie 2007 as you mash the gas and show him what a real retro muscle car is like!!

Re: What about a Heritage Camaro??

Think about it, that wouldn't work at ALL.

Cars are put into stricter laws now than back in the 60's... The car would have to have so many changes that it would seriously look hidious.. it'd be part 60's, part 2000.... It wouldn't be the good parts of either... it would be a jumbled mess, not worth it

better to have a redesign

Isn't that what the new mustang is? part 60' -2000'? and that that looks good.

The new Mustang is completely new. Not based on any prior body tooling.

Ugh....not another one of these threads.
Can someone move this to the lounge? Here we are fighting over such things as 3-5 inches in length, and we get a thread about how we should bring back the original Camaro, retool it and make it new.

They are making brand new replica first gen Camaros. Go buy one.
