And no, I don't care b/c I'm killing time while formating & reloading a server.
The originator of the post is correct...the post is relevant to this forum. You not getting the point makes me wonder about how smart YOU are...

Anyway, the Lucerne is alright looking, but the age bracket you saw doesn't surprise me. If Buick wants to woo younger buyers, it needs a 300-type car, not a new-LeSabre-type car...

I certainly agree.
I don't know why you folks are getting your panties in a bunch about my replies. I'm sorry if you fail to recognize humor & sarcasam. Perhaps I should end each reply w/ a

No offense, but we like to keep this forum focused (mostly) as much as we can. I know the humour you tried to bring by the "who cares" comment, but honestly, for killing time, we have the Lounge.
Many worked hard to keep nonsense out of this forum. People come here to learn about vehicles, current and future (even past!), and what makes this forum great is that it's very informative.
We also have discussions, debates, sometimes heated, and we sometimes get carried away.
Don't get worked up about this, it's all good once things are done and said, just understand where we are coming from when we put this smiley
next to your comments.
Alright?

Yeah. I am the only one allowed to make dumb comments in the threads of this forum.
I am wondering that if you killed Buick how long would you really have reduced sales for GM? I mean they may have loyal customers, but they are all very old, and they would probably die off in the next couple of years and Buick wouldn't sell any cars anyway.

Just focus and stay on topic...... If someone wants to make stupid comments they should send themselves an email rather than screwing up a perfectly good thread.

great example of humor and sarcasm
.as for the Buicks, my godfather is in his late 50s and has had Buicks since he was in his 30s. he is very loyal to the brand and isn' turned away by them making products that have a familiar look and feel to them.
i do agree it wouldn't kill GM to give Buick a car that would be geared towards a younger age group, but how young do you go?
Re: Went to a Lucerne V.I.P. Event - Was the Youngest Person there by about 35 years
I would seriously buy the Lucerne. It looks good on the outside, except for the front end. It has good options inside. It just lacks something though, when I sit in it. I don't know if it is the nineties dash or what, but I can't convince myself to spend $30,000.00+ on it. Maybe its just a bunch of little things adding up that I can't put my finger on.
Course, the only colors I have seen in person are light. Maybe when I see a black one, optioned out I will still change my mind.
I WANT to like and buy this car.

Um....OK.
Unhijacking the original post, I would be a little worried that at a vehicle introduction everyone is well within the last 10-15 years of the US expected lifespan. Buyers in this age group is either going to be buying their last car, or will be buying "up" next round. At the same time, there isn't anyone coming in behind them.
I know that Pontiac and Buick are "damaged brands", but Pontiac still has quite a bit of life left in it, while I personally feel Buick is doomed.
Buick is most certainly making some quality pieces lately, but Buick has always had a unusually high quality rating, at least for the past 15 years. The thing is that Buick has no pulse anymore. I'm not talking GNX Grand Nationals (which sold only to people with alot of money when they were new), I'm talking a sensible FWD coupe or even something marginally sporty.
The Lecrosse & Lecerne, though a good quality left brain car, misses the mark. Cadillac has picked off most all the older buyers that is likely to be around long enough to buy a few rounds, and the younger crowd that might have considered Buick are driving 300s, Lexus GSs, or Infinity G35s.
Cadillac has the luxury market about mastered. Buick needs to get back into the "Executive Sedan" market, where it was once apon a time. If they need guidence, Holden's Statesman, or Caprice might give them a bit of direction.
