Isn't GM unveiling the 2006 Z06 around that time?

If there was some surprise around the corner I think we'd at least get a hint of it by now....

So it's $75,000. Hmmm, a little more than I expected. That is $30,000 difference from C6.

I like the new 3-spoke steering wheel, looks awesome. Don't know why the regular C6 has that weird 4-spoke.

$75,000 seriously? That's more than I expected by $5,000 to $10,000. I knew it would be over $60,000, but wow. I told many people here it would be expensive, but I guess they're finding out just how expensive. And if you think a Blue Devil would be $50,000 cheaper than a GT...think again.

I'm glad they went with 0.8 inch smaller wheel on the Z06 (from base C6), as I often found GM's wheels too large to be sporty in such cars as f-body and Corvette.

the posters over on the corvetteforum have been ****ting bricks about the price for weeks now...many of them will probably step up to a M-B or Viper

So it's officially going to be $75,000? That's effing disappointing seeing as a few grand over $60K was my expectations.

Re: Well...This is cryptic...

If they price it at $75k, they are dooming it to fail similar to the way ZR-1 did... except it's even worse now, because there are more high-dollar alternatives.

I love the idea of a Z06... and the C5 nailed it perfectly for pricing. I can understand a bit more of a price gap because of other add on's to the program, but if it really is $75k, they are killing it before it even launches.

A LOT of people will opt for a Viper instead of a $75k Z06... A $75k Z06 still generally looks liek a $45k LS2 Corvette... a Viper is a Viper.

And this is coming from a life-long die-hard Corvette fan.

I agree. $75K is probably a motortrend estimate, but either way it is too high. $60K-65K would have been the max I would have expected. If they do feel the need to sell it for $70K then I would recommend putting the MSRP at $69,995. They 70,000 # is a big psychological barrier.

For that money I'd rather Just get the Z51 and an LS6 hot cam
