From GM FastLane...
Okay, so he thinks it's nice, but favorite of all time? Sometimes I wonder if Welburn is for real or not.

Your top 3 favorite car designs of all time?
14:02 Ed Welburn: '63 Corvette Stingray split window coupe
Lambo Countach
And honestly, the next generation full-size Cadillac that we're working on now

Yeah, I had thought that the 5th Gen was among his favorites during development. I guess it's only natural to bump your next "big" project up on your list of favorites....

When I was a kid growing up in the 80's, the Countach was my favorite car. I had pictures of it hanging in my room. Of course, one of my favorite movies at the time was Cannonball Run. The opening scene was the coolest ever!

And that still holds true today. Go to a Lambo dealership and see all boys (or men, lets not fool ourselves) glued to the glass, wives and mothers tugging arms in vain attempts to free them.

The Miura is undoubtedly the more beautiful design. However, I actually think that the earlier model (74-78) LP400 Countach looks much less dated than the later 70s and 80s models. Somehow, the more scoops and spoilers it sprouted the more dated looking it became.

I agree. But either way, maybe we should bookmark this thread until the XTS comes out, and see if Ed is full of it or not.

Back to the original topic, yeah, such proclamations just seem so hollow, especially since he's not showing us pictures of the car he's so enamoured with. To be honest I've never understood what's supposed to be so impressive about Welburn, and this ain't helping.
