Ford has nothing to do with that.

BTW, I guess my opinions on stupidity mean less, because I own both Fords and GM's. Good grief.
It is one thing to to give positive and negative feelings toward a company, but you take just about any chance you get to only criticize GM. It gets old after a while.

My point was, this is not a cheap car. You are marketing it as a PHEV. If the electric company can dictate when you can, and can't charge your car............ then they are castrating the technology.

Believe it or not, there are millions of people who do not work during the day, and sleep at night. For them, restricting them to just being able to charge at night will basically take them out of the buying pool.
Real demand-side management from the power company would not prevent cars from charging during the day. The way it typically works is that they use this tech to reduce demand to peak capacity levels, and each person gets cut for a half hour or so. After that, the car that was charging gets cut, and the other one is allowed to charge. And so it goes. It's all done with control signals modulated onto the power lines. The tech has been in place, and in use, for nearly 20 years. PHEVs is an outstanding application for it, IMO.
