Volt hint at next Cobalt?

Just IMO but the way I see it:

Impala

Cobalt
I just can't see the Volt as a Cobalt. Especially since Cobalt will be a world car not just a US model in the NG. Unless of course Astra is the World car and the Volt previews the next US only model. Darn now I am confused about this, thanks Charlie now I won't be able to concentrate in class today!

I thought somewhere along the line I read "next gen Delta platform" and that the tunnel for the batteries will be integral to the platform, regardless of if the battery technology will be ready.
I really like the face on the Volt ....... now I'll shut up before I type something I'll regret.

After seeing the Volt at the DC Autoshow Saturday, it does have Camaro cues in it. I must admit that I did like it.
If the Volt is a hint of the next Cobalt, GM will have another winner on it's hands.

I'm pretty sure that MotorTrend thought the Volt was going to be the next generation Impala. It looks quite a bit like the computerized "spy shot" they had on their cover a few months back.
I think either car would be a good influence on the next Cobalt
