Re: Vector M12- the American exotic car most of you will never see (new pics inside)

Haha, they tried to scam me too. They called me back 10 minutes after I mailed my resume (not kidding) and I was like
"So... what exactly do ya'll do? Door to door sales?"
"Yes sir, we sell kitchen knives door to door."
"Kitchen knives? ... Seriously?"
"Yes sir. When will I be able to schedule an interview time for you?"
"Ummm... ahhhhh... forget about it, I just realized I already have a job... or something. Bye."

It was really pathetic. The logo they use is very similar to the logo Gerald Wiegert either currently uses or used to use on his Vectors.

There are actually a lot of companies named Vector. I think one even makes aftermarket parts for f-bodies . It isn't a very good name. I think that is why Wiegert should have stuck with the name Avtech Motors (what he called it while he had no rights to the word Vector since "Vector Aeromotive" was bought by the guy in Ohio who owns American Automotive. You can see Wiegert's Vector site at http://www.vectorsupercars.com it has some cool videos and pics on it of everything but the M12 (he didn't make the M12, he lost the company before it was made).

Yeah my mistake It must have been the M12. It has been a few years. He has cruised around with a couple of my friends before and I think one of my friends still has his number and keeps in contact with him. He is a pretty cool guy to be cruisin around with all that hes got.

I saw a Vector on the street here in Vegas. I beleive it was in 1999. I was driving north on the Las Vegas strip and was going to make a left into Caesars and there was a silver one right in front of me. He had to slow way down going into the Valet because there were some big speed bumps there. I never thought he would make it but he did. I stopped and waited to see who got out of it and it was Andre Agassi. He lives here in Vegas. I heard later that he returned it back to Vector after the turbos on it caught fire and he was scared to drive it after that. I also heard that Vector had to refund his money. That car had the lowest roofline I have ever seen. Your practicaly lying down driving it.

The "W-2" was my "dream car" back in 1983...It had a twin turbo, aluminum block small block Chevrolet in it. The car had great styling and brute power.

Yep, Andre Agassi owns a silver W8. That's awesome that you got to see the car and well... I guess it is cool to see him too lol. That's semitrue about the car catching on fire. I believe the story goes: "Andre wanted the W8 before Wiegert had finished testing it. Something ended up leaking in the engine causing a lot of smoking in the engine bay. The engine had to be completely rebuilt." I don't believe the car was returned to Vector, well... obviously not if you saw him driving it in 1999. I think he bought the car in the mid-1980s and the fire problem happened about 3 days later. I think he wanted a refund, but Wiegert isn't the type of man that gives refunds. He is a smart business man, he doesn't just throw his money away, however it is also this aspect of him that makes him kind of a failure unfortunately. He has trouble getting investors because they don't like dealing with him because he is so serious.
