V8 370z
Sounds like they are "considering" it.
The previous car was 3600 pounds, I believe. Sounds as if they will shorten the wheelbase to pick up the 200 pounds for the v6.
The 370 market is Porsche Cayman alternative. A shorter WB and lighter weight might get some of the Cayman entenders to give it a peak. V8? Maybe. "considering" is usually marketing speak for "trial balloon".

The chassis on the 370Z doesn't need to be built as tough as a tank either. Horsepower is a relatively modest but respectable 335. Torque is a mere 278 lbs/ft (just 30 horses and nearly identical torque of a DI 3.6 V6). A far cry from the the monsterous 430 horsepower and nearly 400 lbs/ft of chassis twisting torque of the LS3 that a car like say... a 4 passenger Camaro... will have to handle.

Put down the crack pipe!
There is no place/demand/ability for such car in today's market
.
Not for a 2 passenger sports car. The much bigger Corvette has been doing this for years (V8, RWD, curb weight under 3200 pounds).

Also, if I wanted a tank I'd splurge and get Chobham armor, 120 mm gun and gas turbine engine, not a Camaro.
yes but i doubt nissan is going to the trouble to make a 3.7 liter v8 like lotus. I wasnt saying it couldnt be done, i just dont figure nissan will stick to the 3.7 and stay with the name.
