250 hp in a 2800 lb car... Go Solstice!

400 hp in a 3200 lb car... Go Corvette!

I need one of each

Re: Turbo Solstice caught testing?

Well it has the revised front fascia and they are testing it at the 'ring right now (the turbo Sol, that is) so....that's it.

Re: Turbo Solstice caught testing?

That Turbo Solstace will be in heaven during autox and road coarse events. It will be interesting to see what type of cars it gets classed with.

Re: Turbo Solstice caught testing?

Pending final numbers, I'd say the Solstice turbo has a shot at being THE performance bargain of the decade (right up there...or behind... the 2002 base level $23K Z28).

Broken record here:
Build the COUPE, and I'm there. Oh yeah, 2800 lb. or less in coupe form with the turbo engine.

Please?

Re: Turbo Solstice caught testing?

I just read an article about this where they are hinting at 250hp out of the turbo editions. Add some bolt-on improvements on top of that and you'll have a very fast sub-3000lb car. Very cool.

This is the type of car that won't **** my wife off when I have to explain to her that I needed another car. After the WRX STI she said the Camaro has to go before I can add another car/truck. I'll say its for us to take on sunday drives down to Corpus Christi. Plus I have wanted to build a turbo 4 for a while now.

Power will be north of 250.

I might have to wait the extra 10 months or so and get a turbo Sky instead of the n/a. The six-speed will be nicer too.

Re: Turbo Solstice caught testing?

So, stroked ecotecs making 500 rwhp should be possible! You can get 3L out of the 2.5 Subaru motor and 2.8L from a stroked SRT-4 motor.

I have a feeling this car can "bridge the gap" amoung car guys. the Sport compact crowd will like it because its small. Tuner car guys will like it because its RWD with a turbo powerplant. Auto X and road corse buffs will dig the handling. And maybe the Domestic buffs will take to it. Some did like the TTA/GN/GNX and Sy/Tys so it seems a 8cyl isnt madatory.

Re: Turbo Solstice caught testing?

I want this car!! As long as it weighs <2900lbs and has 250+hp and costs <30k I'll take it (make mine Grey with that football color interior). Just think what a CAI/exhaust/ECU will do.
