True sneek peek of new Malibu

http://autodeadline.com/detail?sourc...35858&mime=JPG

General Motors offers a first look at the exterior of the next generation Chevrolet Malibu Monday, December 18, 2006. The 2008 Malibu will be unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January. The new Malibu features a dual-port grille that represents the "new face of Chevrolet." The mid-size Malibu will have a more upscale look and feature more premium materials. GM will invest $208 million in its Fairfax, Kansas assembly plant to prepare for the production of the Malibu. I don't know about you guys but I am loving that front end.

Holy cow, look at the hoodline. The actual opening portion of the hood tapers in along with the bulge in the hood. Sort of like the current generation Viper.

It's got potential, but I really need to see the whole body (at least a front quarter view) before I get a good feel.

Damn I do not like that. But it is just one pic of just the front of the car. I thought it was going to look more like the Aura, which looks much better in the front.

Hopefully the rest of the car will be as exciting as we've been led to believe.

Another peek (a rendering, but seemingly pretty accurate when compared to the spy shots):

Follow the link and see a comparison of the blue rendering to the spy shot.

I'm not liking the grille/face. I thought everyone said it looked elegant and upscale? To my eyes that looks pretty much the opposite. But like Joe, I guess I'll wait until I see the rest.

I don't hate it but I don't love it either. I'll wait to see the whole thing to pass judgement.

I like it.

It's not the "knock-my-socks-off" look that all the hype about this car would lead you to believe, but it is smart, and handsome looking.

It has a lot of the current Impala styling to it at first glance, only more agressive.

It's at least better looking than most if not all of it's competitors...I have to see the whole car though.

The rendering looks better, I was also expecting it to look like the Aura, but wouldn't mind if the rendering was close to the actual thing.

Rounded hood opening like Camaro concept and very reminiscent of this concept:

Need to see the rest of the car, so for now my opinion is TBD.

looks better than a Camry or an Accord, that's for sure. Accord is bland as hell, and the Camry got beat with the ugly stick.

Also seems somone got it pretty close.

I still want to see the real version. It should be nice.
