Yeah I think the new Escalade would be my choice by a longshot over the QX56. It's my favorite lux truck on the market today.

Maybe the all new Land Cruiser/LX570 will dethrone the Escalade when it comes out but that's still a year or so away.

Yup, and the Escalade has the added advantage of not looking broken from the factory. But hey, if you work for someone, and drink the Kompany Kool-Aid, hey, there you go.

The Tahoe is Ok but to me, not nearly as attractive as the Escalade nor is it at the same level of luxury as the Caddy or Infiniti.

Beyone that, I have several reasons for my choice, not all of which I’m willing to broadcast to the world but here is one…

While I really like the Escalade; especially the looks and while I definitely like 403HP, the price differential between the QX56 I ordered and the Escalade with the same equipment is $6,408 ($60,730 for the Caddy vs $54,322 for the QX). Granted, when shopping vehicles in that price range, $6K is not a huge amount but it still needs to be considered.

Every manufacturer will claim “best in class” something for virtually every vehicle it makes but the choice between any selection of vehicles is almost always a personal one that can’t really be quantified in a chart or spreadsheet.

Just for the record, I've been in Tennessee since 1996; I didn't just come in on the tide from California.

Sure....and no one on this site ever supports the GM company line or thinks the world is centered in Detroit.

So do you work for and/or receive a paycheck directly or indirectly from Nissan, or not?

I'm going with yes, and directly. I've assumed that since I first saw him posting, based on his current fleet of cars and his location, and his pro-Nissan posting at times...

And given the fact that he dodged the question last time it was asked less directly?

Re: Trailblazer to be axed?

Guys, can you please stop taking threads off topic like this? I asked about Traiblazers because I want to get one and need some info on if I should buy one or wait for something to possibly take its place. I am not interested in foreign cars or where people work and anyone clicking on the thread subject isn't either.

This isn't the first time this has happened to a thread I started, and Frezza asked a question about cars a while back and sure enough, it went to another subject just like this one did. It is rude and frustrates people.

Can you all please be courteous and stick to the subjects and if you can't, then start another thread?

The TB's replacement was cancelled some time ago. After that, there was a refresh planned for it. I believe that refresh was also cacelled afew months ago.

Unless you're in a hurry, or want something like the TB SS, or want to tow, I'd probably wait for the Chevy Lambdas.

Well....yeah.....exactly. The "fad" is to move away from traditional BOF SUVs toward smaller unibody alternatives.

The crossover market will be the next big thing, luckily GM is actually ready for a market shift this time. People realized they should be able to get everything they always got in an SUV in a smaller, more nimble and more fuel efficient package. I think that's a good thing too.

I still wouldn't mind seeing a smaller traditional SUV based on the Colorado. Sure, it may be a bit redundant in the lineup but I really like my old Jimmy even with all its problems.

Re: Trailblazer to be axed?

Toyota and Nissan are not getting rid of their BOF SUVs. If fact they just updated them. I wouldn't be supprised if in 2 years the Toyota 4-Runner and Nissan Pathfinder or Xterra are out selling the Chevy TrailBlazer. Why can't the #1 auto maker have both a BOF SUV and midsize cross over. Ford, Nissan, and Toyota have no problem doing that, Toyota even just released a new small(er) BOF, the FJ.
