Re: TopGear test CTS-v

Don't really care what they say... I know what I experience and I think the car is flat out awesome.

I just did a high performance driving school at a 2.4-mile road course, and there was a CTSv there in my class... I ran with the guy 6 or 7 times over 2 days. The car was just fantastic. To hear that engine singing at 4500rpm plus sounds so sweet. The car maintained poise and stance very well in the turns, and pulled like a freight train in the straights.

I checked it out and talked with the owner after a couple track sessions, and I was very impressed with the interior of the car as well.

After seeing how well it performed on the track with no preparations at all (meaning purely street trim), ANY car lover would have to be impressed.

If I were forced to make a negative comment, I guess it would have to be the price... because there wasn't anything else that I was not impressed with.
Awesome car...

They were actually quite generous towards the regular CTS (for an American car, anyhow), so I wouldn't expect them to be too harsh. But don't spoil it for me, I still have to download it when I get home

I seriously wouldn't lose any sleep if all of the Top Gear crew died suddenly.

Re: TopGear test CTS-v

Man, I WISH we had a show comparable to Top Gear here in the "colonies", lol. Jeremy Clarkson is hilarious. I have yet to see a US automotive journalist that even comes close to him or Hammond in driving, writing, or televised skill. Their review of the C6 was perfect. So they made fun of the leaf springs, big deal. It IS old tech. He did say it works though. Did you see him ******* it in the corners? Too many "single car enthusiasts" here, as I call them. I am a car enthusiast, regardless of the type of car.

Give us a Top-Gear link if you find one for the CTS-V please.

You can watch it on BBC America, or they're easily findable on the BitTorrent network.

Um, he either said or implied that it was a leaf spring suspension, which it is NOT. It does use leaf springs to exert force on the wheels but it is not a leaf spring suspension. It uses unequal length A-arms on all four corners which is top of the line.

A guy that makes money off of reviewing cars should know this.

I'd hope he'd know it. Makes him look even more retarded comparing it to an old wagon though doesn't it?

Re: TopGear test CTS-v

Anyone have a link for the video of them testing the C6? I want to show that to my Tuner-friend who's an idiot who could use a good owning, by the people he worships. (I hate Top Gear.)

So, his implication is just as esoteric as yours. You said it doesn't use a leaf spring but it does. IIRC, he never said it uses a leaf spring style suspension. He said it uses, "leaf springs". Guess what? Even you agreed with the fact that it does. What did he also say? He said it works. Get over yourself, lol.

Re: TopGear test CTS-v

Actually, if I remember correctly I don't think he ever says that it works. I thought it was the younger guy that did most of the review on the vette that said it works, but Clarkson just kept commenting on how you find leaf springs on really cheap cars (not sure what model he was referring to.) I don't really remember him saying anything positive about the vette at all, except when he is forced to concede that the vette does get a fast lap time, but then mentions how sloppy of a lap it was.

At least, I am pretty sure that is how it happened.
