1973: Z28-11,574; Trans Am- 4,802
1974: Z28-13,802; Trans Am- 10,255
1977: Z28-14,349; Trans Am- 68,745
1978: Z28-54,907; Trans Am- 93,341
1979: Z28-84,887; Trans Am-117,108
1980: Z28-45,137; Trans Am- 50,896
1981: Z28-43,272; Trans Am- 33,493
Total Camaro vs Firebird production:
1973: Camaro- 96,751; Firebird- 46,313
1974: Camaro-151,008; Firebird-73,729
1975: Camaro-145,770; Firebird-84,063
1976: Camaro-182,959; Firebird-110,775
1977: Camaro-218,853; Firebird-155,736
1978: Camaro-272,631; Firebird-187,285
1979: Camaro-282,571; Firebird-211,454
1980: Camaro-152,005; Firebird-107,340
1981: Camaro-126,139 ; Firebird-70,899
Trans Am accounted for half or more of all Firebird sales in 1978 & 1979, and about 1/3 of Firebird sales in other years, starting in 1975. Z28 was consistently at or below 1/3 of total Camaro production.
Note that at the time, Chevrolet had in excess of 5,500 dealers while Pontiac had just over half that, making Pontiac dealers far busier selling Firebirds than Chevrolet was selling Camaros.
On the dealer level, more Firebirds were sold than Camaros, but that's just a technicality.
