Fritz and my definition of rebadge must be different.. When I think of rebadge, I think of a Chevy (eg: Silverado) with a different grille (eg: Sierra) -- with both models being available at the same time.

I just posted a question asking why moving G8 to Chevy would count as badge engineering, if Pontiac is leaving. I pointed out that many GM fans think Chevy needs a sporty RWD sedan, and said that G8 would be perfect.

I forgot to copy it before I submitted, so I don't have the exact text. Getting it under 255 characters was rough.

The most commented on entry of the GM FastLane Blog was the one that Bob said the "Chevy G8" wouldn't happen. If that does not get their attention then nothing will.

Plain and simple it's a power struggle and Fritz won't back down on his belief that GM does not need the G8 in their line-up. Which IMO (and yours, and thousands of other buyers each month) is a grave mistake to make.

But we're just "arm-chair CEO's" who don't have a clue.
