Cool Info!

I love the tire combo though it doesn't allow for rotation.

2.73/3.42 gears...A little dissappointed, but leaves much room for improvement. Guess they still have to watch the milage.

1. Still only 4-speeds for the automatic? I'll wait for the 6-speed slushbox.

2. You have to get the 1SB to get the 6-disc changer. Yet another greedy, cheapskate move from GM. Besides, audio options shouldn't be dependent on big packages. Try upgrading a GM factory audio system, and you'll have major headaches. At least BMW makes the Harmon-Cardon system a stand-alone option.

3. Keyless ignition is pointless. Turning a key is just as easy as pushing a button. Instead of a useless gimmick, how about a free disc changer? I guess they figure people will actually pay for the changer - but not for a keyless start.

How is getting into the car (with your keys still in your pocket), putting your foot on the brake, and pushing a button not easier than a normal key start?

It's technology baby! I guess you didn't like the electronic gauge cluster in '84 either...wait, I would agree with you on that one.

Personaly, I'd rather have keyless entry than a CD changer. Heck I don't think I'd use the changer even if I had it. No more fiddling with keys or remotes? Now that's pretty cool.

Perhaps the wiring harness is different, and it is more cost effective only only offer the 6-disc changer with the 1SB package?

I don't know that for a fact, just speculation, but it is possible...

Jeeeezus...I thought it was the GTO you hated but I'm beginning to think you hate GM in general.

I think the keyless ignition is great! I've had a disc changer and they are a PITA IMO....I change discs so often that changers are useless....unless they offered a 100 disc changer. I'd much rather take the keyless ignition over the changer any day. I guess it must be a nice ride if the only thing you can think of to bitch about is the radio option. But I'm sure you'll find more wrong with it as time goes on.

I'm gonna call on this.

Scroll to pages 15 & 16. Now go here http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette/ and click Specifications. Now scroll down to almost the bottom and you will see that the EXACT SAME dimentions are listed in both cases. We already know that the C6 lost several inches of width (5" IIRC} yet increased the wheelbase.

My wager is that somebody that frequents these boards made that based off the C5 info.

And don't be impressed that it's a pdf. I can do those at work even
