No kidding - who would have ever thought we'd see any real HP from Mercedes motors?

Last weekend for the first time, I saw a new Crossfire at a gas station.. LIke the front, hate the back.. and knowing the normal ones are on the slower side, eh, I'm not really drawn to it.. Guess the SRT6 takes care of that.

DC's got a good thing going.. SRT4, SRT10, now the 6..

I guess the SRT8 would be magnum..

Now if they put out a cheaper no frills SRT8 full sized coupe.......

Crossfire is a pretty light car, you guys think the SRT-6 will be able to hit 12.9?

The E55 dynos 422 at the wheels bone stock and will run dead even with a Z06 all the way up.

Freaking amazing performance.

The S600 is even more nuts. A TT V-12. There's guy on SVTperforamnce.com that run his big S600 at the track regularly. It runs high 11s @ 119 bone stock.

I have a video if anyone can host it.

Easily.

The heavier SLK32 runs 12.9 with the exact same drivetrain.

This thing will be hunting vettes. and Z06s with a pulley.

I think they'll arrive here later this year.

Only problem is I dunno if our friend over on SVTperformance, Treynor, will be willing to buy one and wring it out.

Although he has the S600, a stock '03 Viper, and a SC 1000hp '96 Viper GTS, so maybe.

But I'd estimate low11s@125 by a hard driving car rag. If this Treynor fella gets one, high 10's@ near 130.

Judging by how often I see them out here in SF & LA, I am really begining to wonder what DC means by "limited production".

It's amazing that a car that registered a :blah: with me at the auto shows really stands out on the street. They look very good head on (from the rearview mirror), and that chisled body doesn't blend in with everything else out there.

How much is that SRT-6 going for?

I beleive I read $41,000 somewhere, but I'm sure the official price isn't out yet.

Yep, I'm well aware of what they're doing with engines nowadays. What's even more amazing is that they build an auto that'll live behind those monsters.

My comments make more sense if you go back into Mercedes' relatively recent history - even a short five years ago, their engines weren't anything to brag about.
