SRT-4 goes Z/28 hunting!

This from Car&Driver's SRT-4 road test:

" This year, the SRT-4 will get a chance to prove its status as a giant killer when Dodge's director of racing operations, John Fernandez, heads up an assault on the SCCA's T2 racing class. The class has been dominated by the Camaro Z28, and it'll certainly be fun to watch the SRT-4 nipping at the popular pony car's heels."

John Heinricy.....are you listening?!

That will be very interesting to watch. I wonder tho how much more performance you can get out of the SRT compared to how much more you can get out of the Z28? T2, if I rmeber right, allows a fair amount of mods.

Also, I wonder how bold I'd be charging for a corner neck and neck with a singnificantly heavier and bbigger car.

SRT-4 will have the benefit of ongoing factory support and developement.

Like you said, it'll be interesting to watch.

True. i would not be surprised if T2 became the playground for the SRT, the new Mustang (with or without factory support), and the M3.

Thumbs up

Just think. About 15 months ago Neon was known more for basic boring transportation & spotty quality.

Now, it's a easily modified Hot Rod that can run with anything with more than 2 seats off the showroom or with a few simple mods.

Who'd have thought it back then?

Maybe a nice race, but I'd be surprised if it consitantly beats out the T2 Camaro's....

It would be fun watching the SRT run door to door with the M3's and S2000's also in the class..

Anyways, its still wrong wheel drive in my book.
