Which is sportier?

Re: Which is sportier?
The front end of that Toyota is stolen from Cadillac.
If you're really asking which has better styling then it's the Toyota. The Impala is too conservative, generically styled - particularly the rear lights - and lacking curves and lines.
I'd buy the Toyota first. Take note GM.

but i disagree with the second
the avalon seems to have a caddy-like front end with a deville like body line (to me)
the rear lights on the avalon also look weird and too big
so in the end, i don't think it's a question of which is sportier
i think it's a matter of the avalon doing the wrong things, and the impala not doing much at all
so the impala wins by being bland
kind of ironic how we always call toyota bland, wouldn't you think?

Re: Which is sportier?
Put the Impala SS in black...as they're supposed to be and it's no contest......

"Bloated cow" comes to mind when I see the Toyota..........

Re: Which is sportier?
Quite obviously they're both painfully bland cars. However, painfully bland seems to sell - look at the top selling cars. The one thing the Impala has going for it is that as boring as it looks, it should be a more than competant driver. 210 hp even in base form means this thing should move pretty well. I just hope people realize that this is the primary comparison to be made - Chevy v. Toyota - not Chevy vs. Dodge Charger R/T. I realize people will automatically want to match two together, especially auto mags, but it's not entirely fair. The Impala's primary competition remains bland looking, highly functional, reliable, fwd mid-size sedans. If the Impala can match all of these features and on the side be a bit more fun to drive, then the car will have hit its mark.

I'd buy the Toyota in a heartbeat over the Impala. Somebody mentioned it was stolen from Cadillac...well, I love Cadillac's look so it's perfect for me. The Impala SS will hopefully look better in person.
