Al, nothing whatsoever gay about a Miata. Go drive one man. Sub 2500 lb. curb weight makes for some pretty sweet handling. Minimalist cars kick ***.

Beetles are pretty lame, though.

Did anyone see the new Audi TT with the new Audi design! Holy agressiveness Batman. The front end looks awesome, deffinatly makes it a killer looking car.

OMG, the TT is SO much "gayer" than the Miata, it isn't even funny. The Miata is a legit sports car, raced in classes all over the country (and internationally). The TT is s prettied up Golf/Beetle/Jetta platform, complete with their sissy transverse engine/front (or all) wheel drive layout.

The TT may have some cool (if it's your thing) art deco design features inside and out, but it is much less of a driver's car imo. So, which is the gayer car, a true two seat convertible sports car with a classic looks, a decent power to weight ratio and awesome handling, in the vein of Chapman's Lotus ideal of light weight being key, OR a trendy fwd economy car turned into a sporty coupe and convertible with lots of pretty features to make it stand out in the crowd?

Yes, I don't understand the Monaro being in there but if it would've won....what would that say about GTO.

 

Well, I guess all those people that said the GTO was gay weren't entirely wrong.

 

The Miata is the most gay car on the road, period. The reason is, it is very small, not agressive, underpowered, convertable, and looks "cute".

Everyone knows this and it is said over and over and is a typical stereotype.

 

It's also the purest sports car on the road, period. Hard to believe, yet true.

 

Mazda Miatas are not gay, at all. How can you call one of, if not the, purest sports car on the market gay? An autocross legend a sissy car? RIGHT....

Not my cup of tea, but hardly "gay" by any stretch...period.

 

Not only do I think the Miata is a very cool little sportscar.....GM does too. The Miata is the Solstice's benchmark.

 

Well then, if it is the purest sports car, than what are we fools doing, lets all trade in our cars and get the almighty Miata. Even if it is the most "pure" sports car, that doesn't mean that the car isn't considered a "gay" car. Gay people and women love Miatas, this is fact. I can't even fit in a Miata so for me to own one is an impossiblity.

GM sees the car and the market as an opportunity to do it better and in a little different way. The Miata is the benchmark because it is the only car in the segment.
