Some interesting comments on SS.
The LQ9 was lame for the Silvy SS. Too bad you had to watch your back for W/T dodges with the hemi! That truck really needed the LS2.
Hopefully they will make a rcsb SS truck with the L92 (i think that's right) out of the escalade with the A6 trans. Now that would be a truck!

This would make 2 people in a row to come out about the SS's lack in performance, or at least some of them.
I can only guess that the SS badge will start to carry more power in the future models. This does pose the question...Z28 vs SS, yet again.....

I'd still like to see an Aveo SS. Kind of like the old Dodge Turbo GLHs. I think there's definitely a market for pocket rocket compacts with the entry level crowd. You could totally set them up to follow the brand as buyers down the road migrating to each level SS models as their needs and families grow.
i'd love to see the Silverado SS compete with the Ram SRT10.. make it as bold and over-the-top as the Ram, and give it 500hp
Well I guess thats one of the reasions for the thread, that people inside GM wanting SS to mean more then just the highest trim with a bit more engine.
If it has an SS badge, it should have been checked and done by GMPD.

Because the Silvy SS was selling well AND changing over to the LS2 would have cost more in certification and testing than it would have made back, which would have slowed the development of the GMT900s and consequently the RWD Volume cars. Also the LQ9 was certified and tested for that configuration and chassis so it was basically a no cost deal. So do you think it would have been worth it from a business prospective?
