Solstice Mule...

Remember when we first saw the solstice we were like if this thing goes into production, what if you get into a small frontal accident, do you have to replace like 50% of the car's panels

Now looking at this mule, those seams really stand out. Hopefully they'll get them to blend in better. I guess that entire front top pne is the hood. Well we also have larger side view mirrors and Id still like to know where the front liscence plate is goin.
2900lbs!! the miata is only 2500, they have to do something about that also.

Re: Solstice Mule...

That was a very rough mule to keep the car in the news by giving the press some time behind the wheel. The production version does have proper gaps and is of good quality (saw it at NAIAS). And nearly all cars with a front plate don't look right. The C6 will also have an awkward placement. The press, btw, had nice comments and only wanted some adjustments with the steering for a more connected feel.

As for weight, the Solstice will make up for the difference with more torque and should handily out-accelerate the Miata in the supercharged trim. But it also remains to be seen what the next Miata will be capable of (rumored to be maintaining its same weight).
