Solstice??? how long?? hmmmmm...
how long has it been?? I got this from another thread about how long we been seeing the concepts and protos and test cars for the longest time...and still no car? how long has it been since the concept to production timline Lutz said it would be? is it still on track or are we mislead here, heck we saw the official Corvette drawing and actual pics and now production faster than the Solstice...and Lutz said it would be here in record time?? Heck I pemember seeing it in what 2002? for the first time..
Just wondering???

Re: Solstice??? how long?? hmmmmm...
You know how long ago the C6 design was first getting inked?
Solstice is much faster then the C6.
I guess designing a car, creating it in 18 months out of the GM parts bin, then greenlighting it, coming out with a production concept, then testing it, fine tuning it, and then revamp the Willmingonton plant with ALL new gear in 3 years isnt fast enough?
Sorry GM couldnt rush it out to ya.

It doesn't even really matter, because it's stated to come with a 4 cylinder engine, at least that's what one of the things I got from Pontiac said.

its not that its what I think its got the same problem the SSR did. it was introduced but like a few people said it looks old since its been shown so many times..before commming out..but I remember on Motorweek or some car show a while ago a top GM man was getting interveiwed and he said in response to the design concept and final production car of the solstice it would be designed and within 2 yrs and be on the road, he said this would happen with the Solstice first....now its 3 years?? Thats what I was asking..
Re: Solstice??? how long?? hmmmmm...
I agree with Caps94Z0DG, it does seem to take GM forever to go from concept to reality. The SSR took about 4 years from the time it was at its first show to make it to production. The solstice will feel like old news, to those of us who follow these things, when it comes out too.

with 170hp in a car that small it should be pretty fun. With a turbo, much more fun
Re: Solstice??? how long?? hmmmmm...
you have to remember that they spent at least a year after it was shown debating whether of not they should make it. once they said yes, it hasnt been too long. although i think they shouldnt have spent so much time arguing.
