Solstice on the Apprentice last night

Pretty good marketing from GM on the Apprentice last night. Announcing pre-orders can begin today at 2 pm. First 1000 will be numbered and badged as a special edition.

I think the other post about people running out to the lot to pick up one of these $20,000 awesome looking cars that I gotta have and finding none on the lot, and not even much literature about them, including salespeople that have never even seen one to be correct.

How bad does that turn a potential customer off? Or does the wait make them want it even more? I vote for the first option.

Did you guys catch when Donald Trump said, GM is worth 25 billion, only 14 more than me, and they have been at it a lot longer. Way to put down the people responsible for your whole episode, and advertise on your show.

Did you also see when the Pontiac execs said "Everything is GREAT at Pontiac" ROFLMAO

Re: Solstice on the Apprentice last night

I thought it was another great marketing idea from GM...

This, the G6 on Oprah (though the timing was poor... they should have waited until more G6's were on dealer lots, so they would have caught more sales when the "buzz" was in the air), and the Hot Button giveaway(s) gather a LOT more attention than dumping all that money in typical radio and TV commercials that are just bacjground noise most of the time...

I thought it was great product placement. I would have liked to have seen the car in motion, though. Also that was Lori Queen right? Why didn't she or the other guy talk? Only one person talked and I don't know who the hell he was. Maybe he was the guy from the marketing firm. BTW I think that brochure was really, really good.

It was VERY good marketing, I thought the line about $25 Billion was funny too, but what is funnier is you can tell that was all taped a while ago because as of today GMs stock is only worth $15 Billion

I think this will be good for Pontiac, I just hope the lack of Solstices on dealer lots doesn't hurt them.

Ya, like the Oprah/G6 thing, I had to question the timing again, but at least they incorporated a sort of "pre-order fever" environment... maybe that will work out.
