Took a ride in my buddy's Black '06 Cobalt SS today. SMooooooth, and torquey, and 60mph comes pretty quick!
And he shopped around and got his for $19K and change, 30 some miles on it!..
It has me seriously considering one soon.

FWD is faster than RWD cause the drive wheels are already that much farther ahead.
