It's about the ZQ8.

Kind of an interesting thread with some neat links and discussion. The I5 with a Flowmaster and intake sounds MUCH cooler than stock! And who will be the first to install that blower?

The cheapest to mod and gain more power is the 2.4L in the Solstice. Bar none. That engine is so restricted there are people putting $2k in and getting HUGE gains. Check out the SolsticeForum.com (check it out Charlie) it's getting HUGE gains.

Definately. A re-flash is doing some people very well.. add an intake header and other assorted mods and you can really wake them up.

Wow....that ZQ8 does sound good.

At one point I was thinking of getting a reg cab ZQ8 and keeping the Camaro. The Auto/I5 ZQ8 would have been $18K after rebates, etc...

Weight distribution and CG are a little off from the RWDs I tend to want to mod.

Edit: Just watched the video. The I5 with Flowmaster sounds pretty exotic. A lot cooler than I expected.

With full exhaust and cam I bet it would sound very close to an F1 car.
Now only if GM could put this sensitive engine in a small rwd car.

Think about it. You can probably get buy I5 ZQ8, add a supercharger and exhaust....and have around 350 hp for under $25K.

Welp, I guess. But you can't order it in any color you want, and you can't get it with less than 10 miles on the odometer.

Re: So...you want a cheap RWD to mod?

I sort of intended this thread to be about NEW moddable cheap RWD.

Used? ****, that's not really the point here. Otherwise I'd be talking about buying an '81 Malibu sedan for 400 bucks and dropping in a junkyard Caddy 472 or 500.

New 05 GTOs can be had for $26k, but I'll always have a weak spot for fast trucks.

I really like those. If I had to get a new car I would really consider a 4 door one. Probably be little consideration as its the only thing i like that i can afford.
