Re: So, who got their PHR?
OK, I was actually able to find this thing after ALOT of looking.
First off, if you've seen the ones done at C&G a few months ago, it's basically the same thing, just real looking, so you've pretty much seen it already. (it's bright red with black Z28 stripes
) It IS slightly different though. It does have the lousy Chevy bar and wrong-colored generic Chevy emblem which is on every other boring Chevy these days. This is the closest thing we have and people in the know have directed these guys so here's a Camaro lunatic's review:
Things I LIKE:
The rims are 5-spoke and nice, nice wide tires. The side of the car is really nice except for 3 things. (the quarter crease going into the door, no wrap around taillights/spoiler, and blended mirrors) I think the side of this car must be cool to look at in person. The lower body cuts in ALOT like an IROC-Z, which means exposed wide tires everywhere.
I like the usual 67/68/2nd Gen/3rd Gen center crease combined with real fender flares and the 69 fender creases.
The wheel wells are thankfully round and not square. It also has 3rd Gen-like GFX on the side only, but it's in the shape of how a 67/68 is there. 4th Gen looks are gone, there's no overdone roundness or lots of body intergration. (except for the stupid mirrors) Aggressive, sharp but smooth Camaro lines like they had before the 4th Gen are back. I'd like to maybe suggest black door handles, the C6 will also have them.
Things I DO NOT Like:
The car is still WAY TOO retro. It's basically a 1st Gen, without a doubt. I'm almost surprised that there's no chrome bumpers! The only other places there could be real cues from any other Gen are the interior and the rear bumper/taillights, and I only say that because I haven't seen those things yet. They are completely off with the front bumper. It looks just like a modern 67 and it doesn't translate nicely, especially with that stupid bar. All the lights being round just doesn't look right also. I expected 2 same-size round headlights right next to each other on each side, which woulda still looked "Camaro" and alot better too. (BTW, why are we going back to full width open-front grills 36 or so years later?) I say change it completely or only slighty if that's not possible. Do the double lights, make the driving lights the parking lights, and move the driving lights (which do not have to also be round) into the lower grill. The roof is also kinda funny looking, really round up front and really flat in the back. I didn't want quarter windows (or a regular trunk) but they're done nice, like the 1st Gen of course. I'm really wondering how it will look with T-Tops, hopefully good.
Overall it's OK but needs work. GFX all around would be nice along with some other things I mentioned. I think I like the ones on KH's concept better. (and good job to him too for making these things look real) I wouldn't want this car as it is to be the 5th Gen. It was really nice to read all the stuff we know and have seen in a magazine for the public to see.

Re: So, who got their PHR?
Also, I showed this to a few people after buying it and I asked what they did/didn't like. All liked the side and disliked the front bumper. The lack of aggressivness and stand out nice looks from the front were mentioned by all. I also like how in the picture it appears bigger and wider than the M*stangs.
The powertrain details and mention of the Z28 being the all-out model a year or 2 later were cool.

Re: So, who got their PHR?
Pretty much how I felt. I think just putting a more modern, aerodynamic nose on it would make it much better looking, and not so retro. Here is my weak attempt at making what I would like to see as the next 5th gen.

Re: So, who got their PHR?
Yes could someone please post the pic. Everyone is describing and giving their opinion on the pic, when I haven't even seen it. Its like dangling a sucker in front of a child.

Re: So, who got their PHR?
I bought my copy last night. Sorry, I don't have a scanner but the car just looks like a "real life" version of Crispey's car from C&G. If you've seen the drawing you've basically seen the car in PHR. What's disappointing is that there's only a couple of front shots of it. I'd like to see their vision for the back end.
